The hotel was great. It is on a nice quiet street central to many of the train/ metro lines to get around. The staff was great. Free water and coffee in the lobby. The room was tiny but is setup so well you did not mind after a few moments. It has everything you could want in it. The one giant downside is that it had the singular worst mattress I have ever slept on. By day two I was suffering of terrible hip and back pain. They do have an overnight masseuse for those long days walking around however.
Loved the room and the location of the hotel. For the price, the room is of a very good size in Japan. It was clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is great, it is 1 station away from Tokyo station and about a 5 minute walk to the nearest train station. Plenty of food options around too. I wished that they didn't feel the need to put individual notices on days when we chose not to have our rooms cleaned, though - seems a bit of a waste of paper.
I couldn't fault my stay at this hotel - staff were friendly, the room was great, and I'd definitely stay here again!
Easily accessible from Kanda station (south exit) this is a new hotel and is an ideal base for exploring Tokyo. You can get to most places from Kanda as it’s one stop from the main Tokyo station and on lines included in the JR Pass. By western standards the rooms are small - the standard doubles have a couple of feet spare around the bed, which is a natty cabin style with drawers for clothes, a kettle and tray, a fridge and an alcove for a stool. The bathrooms are great if cosy - great shower - my friend wanted to buy one, and the loos are the best Japanese type with heated seats etc. We managed very well for 13 nights in a standard double (11+2, we went back) but if you need more space, book a deluxe room. They have a card system for food and drink. If you book an inclusive breakfast deal you get a 1000 yen card with 10x100 yen points for each day. You then spend these for breakfast (there’s a good choice of hot and cold food, each item priced individually), lunch (weekdays - 3 hot dishes) or at other times (snacks, draught beer, bottled drinks etc). If you don’t book breakfast or if you run out, you buy a card. Tea and coffee are free all at all times. There are washing machines available too. We were there during the Rugby World Cup, in particular during typhoon Hagibis. The staff were normally very friendly and helpful but were superb during the typhoon, ensuring that there was food and help for us all day long. Thank you all. We will happily go back.
We stayed for 6 nights. We had a very comfortable stay. Very friendly staff. Very good breakfast. Worth the extra cost.
