Hyatt Centric Gran Via Madrid

The staff at the Hyatt Centric were incredibly helpful. The hotel is in a great location and the decor is modern but comfortable. Overall a great stay!

I have stayed out other Hyatt Centrics and particularly loved the one in Tokyo. Unfortunately, given the price point of this hotel, we expected more in some areas. The BIGGEST negative was sending a complaint to management with zero response which is unacceptable for me. Negatives: - Room on second floor is across from a bookstore so customers can see directly into your room. Further there is on-going construction which starts around 7:30am in the morning, in the building across the room - while we were offered another room, it would have had the same issues - For some reason they had my booking split into two different bookings from hotels.com - this meant I had to sort this out again after check-in. There was confusion about whether I had an upgraded room on 2nd part of visit where the two days costs almost double the first 4 nights... the ended up saying it wasn't, but I suspect they didn't want the hassle of sorting this issue out - My partner asked for personal hygiene products in a discreet manner - the information books in the rooms say that they will "gift" these if you ask at the front desk - instead the person embarrassed my partner in front of male staff and told her to go to the pharmacy - since she is Asian, she felt that a bit of racism may have been at play - Room key cards stopped working after 4 days. Positives: - Rooms were cleaned quite well and almost immediately after posting "please clean" - Check out was great
