The home is every bit as beautiful as you hope. This is a time that the photos really don’t do it justice. Zoe was fantastic even going so far as to come and pick up our suitcases (we flew in from the US so got in early morning), so we didn’t have to worry about them all day. The house is well equipped and very comfortable. We were there the second week in August and it was HOT! The A/C in the upstairs bedroom was a huge benefit as it was very hard to keep the rest of the house cool enough to be comfortable even with a fan in the bedroom off the courtyard. Due to the heat, we chose not to go all the way down to Maro beach as the climb back up the steep hill was not a pleasant one. We opted instead for either going into Nerja or nearby Torrox Costa. I think having a car would have been helpful but given the parking situation, opted out. The walk into Nerja realistically is more like 45 minutes and there are busses that go from the roundabout. Of course, the caves have always been a must-see and are an easy walk. There are small shops that sell food and beach stuff. We had coffee in the mornings in Maro but chose to eat meals wherever we were headed for the day. Taxis from Nerja cost about €10. Did I mention how awesome Zoe was?

Would thoroughly recommend this house for families. It is very well laid out and located in the centre of Maro with a super view from the upstairs terrace. Maro is sleepy and gorgeous but still has quite a choice of restaurants and bars and Nerja is only a 5 min drive. Zoe and Nigel were exceptional hosts.

We loved our stay at this comfortable townhouse in sleepy Maro. The property is beautifully and sympathetically restored with a well-equipped kitchen and every modern-day comfort. Being July we were outdoors most of the time; barbecuing in the shady courtyard, or having a sun-downer on the upper terrace while admiring the views over farmland, Nerja and the ocean. There are a handful of good bars and restaurants in the village and we enjoyed exploring the coves to the East; Las Calas del Pino being out favourite (despite the clamber down). Zoe, the owner, was super-helpful. We’ll certainly book more than three nights next time!

The house was very comfortable and well maintained. The location in Maro was perfect for exploring nearby beaches. I would highly recommend this house for families. Wonderful stay.

This is a beautifully restored village home with all modern conveniences. It was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The weather was unseasonably poor when we visited in January but it would be fabulous to sit out in the courtyard or on the balcony on a nice warm day, we will have to visit again. Despite the cold and rain the house was nice and warm and if we had needed it there was a lovely wood burning stove. Maro in January is very quiet but there were a couple of restaurants and bars open, all within a couple of minutes walk. Some parking is available on nearby streets but there is a big car park a couple of minutes walk away. Nerja is about a 10 minute drive away so plenty of bustle and life there and then back to the peace of Maro, perfect. Zoe and her husband were good hosts, met us and showed us around, gave us some tips about local amenities and lovely oranges and lemons from their garden. Good communication prior to the trip as well including detailed directions. We would certainly stay again.

5 adults stayed for one week and were very comfortable with all aspects. Clean and tidy and everything working properly. Local restaurant also provided good food at reasonable price.

I really loved to stay two weeks with my family in this beautiful home! It's fully and well equipped, from kitchen tools, dishes and electrical appliances to the rest of furniture. The terrace-solarium is so nice, expecially in the evening to enjoy the view of Nerja. Surroundings and neighbors are absolutely quite. The owners, Zoe and Nigel, so kind and helpful for all needs. I'd go back!
