Courtyard Fort Worth Historic Stockyards

Let me preface this with the fact that my husband and I book ONLY Marriott hotels. We love the chain and have rarely been disappointed. This was the first time we have ever been let down by this chain. When we arrived cars were lined up to the street for check in and the parking lot was completely full. We circled the building and came back around to get in line and were literally sitting in the road waiting hoping we didn't get hit. I hopped out to go check in and find out where we were supposed to park and was told that the only available parking was valet for $20. I was not aware of this is fee when we booked the hotel. We finally get checked in and started to head out for dinner and realized we left some important items in my car. We went to the valet and he couldn't find our keys. So, we had to walk to dinner, which was pretty far from where we were staying, and had to go without the items we needed from the car. One of those items was my coat. It was cold and I am was stuck walking to dinner with no coat. My sheets looked wrinkled like they had already been slept on. There were also some hairs on my sheets that did not belong to me. The shower was very strange and didn't have a glass door all of the way across so water kept splashing on the floor and it was pretty cold because there was nothing to hold the steam in. The bed was comfortable and the rest of the room looked decently clean. It is also a very short walk to Billy Bob's.

This is our favorite place to stay in Ft Worth! Love this hotel!!

Check in was at 3pm. We got there at 4:45 and our room wasn’t ready. We had to wait in the lobby for 45 minutes for our room to be ready. The guy checking us in went on telling us about how short staffed they were and that he was sorry for us having to wait. Then he comped our parking. The room was great and very comfortable. Great location in the stockyards. We got billed for our parking anyway

Clean room and nice facilities

Stay was very good, easy walk to almost everything. $20 per night to park was WAY EXPENSIVE and possibly only reason I would not consider staying there. Otherwise all was good.

Pros: I enjoyed the location it was close enough to the stockyards without all the bustle and the rocking chairs were relaxing to sit in. I felt as though it was very clean and they were accommodating with checking an hour early. Cons: We were not informed until we arrived that we HAD to valet and they charged 20$ for staying one night. During this time of Covid I did not appreciate a stranger in my car. I am not sure if they wore masks/gloves while parking or bringing the car back that I witnessed. The walls were really thin. We heard stomping, inebriated guests in the hallway, and the adjoined room someone vomiting for over 10 minutes. I live in the city so I’m used to traffic sounds but the train that comes through was very loud and the bed frame was in desperate need of WD-40, the squeaking was highly annoying. The website stated that bar was open which it was not (I understand with Covid but it could have been updated). For what I paid and with my past experiences with Marriot my expectations were sadly not met. We could have stayed at another place and saved quite a bit of money for a better experience .

Only complaint was loud cars outside amd people loud in halls saturday evening. Great location and service.

Very noisy til very late

Room design and cleanliness were subpar. The countertops were dirty and there were fingernail clippings on the floor in the bathroom. The air conditioning was perfect. Did wedding, pillows and mattress we're all wonderful. The towels were perfect, thick and absorbent and comfortable. Play Paul Mitchell Tea Tree products or not refilled adequately upon our arrival but Pleasant to have them in the shower. The shower head did not give very good coverage or pressure but was warm and hot on demand. The surprise of forced paid valet parking was not appreciated at all upon arrival but, was comped upon my complaint. The valet staff was professional and quick. We simply did not like being forced to valet park with no free parking options. Overall we say 4 1/2 out of five stars. Cleanliness is a must and housekeeping could have done a better job in the bathroom. As a post thought, the coffee left in the room for us was also notably wonderful.

The clock in the room was not working correctly and impossible to operate to fix the correct time!!!
