SKY9 Penthouse Apartments

Decent apartment on the top floor. Place to sit outside is nice. Small windows. View of a park and some other apartment buildings. The listing says toiletries included, but bring your own. They only left us two rolls of toilet paper for three people staying for four days. No shampoo, just a bottle of body wash. Like things like that would cost them maybe a euro or two to make a more pleasant stay, but they skimp on it. Be warned in the summer there is no air conditioning. The local grocery stores close early, but there is one a subway ride away which is open later.

It was a wonderful stay at SKY9 Apartment. It is not really 'penthouse' on the top floor but it is indeed a lovely apartment in downtown Vienna at a very reasonable price. The apartment is spacious - we had the one bedroom with separate kitchen and a balcony. Nothing to complain about the apartment itself - clean, comfy, very quiet and modern decor. Check-in and check-out are very easy. We did not even meet the receptionist there at all but they were very helpful and quick in email responses. The neighbors there are great too - we got to borrow a weighing scale for our luggage before leaving for the airport. The neighborhood area is ok - quiet and not crowded (which not feel very safe at night time but Vienna is very safe on its own so that's ok). Not very near any train/subway - about 5min walk to bus stop, 10min walk to tram stop, which take you to Vienna Central station. Vienna Central station is about 15min walking. If you travel with luggage, best to take Uber from Vienna Central station to the apartment, cheaper than by bus/tram.

Superb Apartments, despite being out of Town and not really 'City Centre'. With that said the exceptional service and high standards of cleanliness made up for the rather 'residential' location.

The SKY9 Apartment looks nice however it was a letdown in many respects especially considering the price. The owner requested deposit money to be paid in advance and by transfer only. As I was busy travelling and had limited WiFi the owner did not seem to care and be flexible in his approach (I offered to pay in cash at arrival time which is the same as check in time at 2pm which is what the original booking stated - to be paid at the check in), he simply said if you do not pay deposit you will not get the key and wont be able to use the room AT ALL. Very disappointing and I had to run around to make this arranged. Also there was a sneaky 5 euro cleaning fee per person that he deducts from the deposit and you are aware of this once you make a booking and requests deposit to be transferred. I've travelled many times and never had such a bad experience. Hotel location was NOT close to HBF train station, it was a good 30 min walk. We only booked it due its "supposed" proximity to HBF to find out we still had to walk a lot. Kaplerplatz is the closest station which is 15min walk and one station away from HBF. Apartment is next to kids play ground and it's very noisy during day and night. Kitchen is very small and limited in functionality - NO cutlery, NO plates, NO sugar/salt/tea/coffee just simply basics that you would expect and need when you are travelling. NO washing machine and both microwave and fridge were tiny. NO Air Conditioning, NO toiletries and NO blinds.
