Caro Short Stay Main Bridewell

A fantastic little hotel in Central Liverpool. Great location and what an amazing transformation from an old prison to a quirky hotel! All rooms are former cells small, clean modern and adequate, perfect for a short stay. The essence of the jail is evident at every turn. The central courtyard has to be seen to be appreciated. You will love this hotel, its so utterly cool. Parking tip, the hotel has a voucher deal with the nearby Ncp on vernon Street. The night we arrived we noted the entrance barrier was down. After driving around trying to locate another entry, we eventually discovered you need to pull right up to the shuttered entrance in order for it to automatically open. The hotel supplies you with an additional parking voucher at check in. When you go to pay for parking on the day of departure, submit the ncp ticked into the machine first, followed by you hotel ticket. The price reduced for £25 gor 24 hours, down to £9. Bargain.

An unusual place to stay. The rooms are small, but there is the old exercise yard that has nice sofas, tables and TV. We used the area to have a lunch in between exploring Liverpool. Nice and handy for all the shops, eateries and museums etc.

I've stayed at the Caro near Liverpool One before and assumed that it would be the same. It wasn't. The room was very small and I had the impression that it also doubled as student housing. Overall, for the price paid, I can't complain. The room could have been cleaner and I don't think that it gets swept often. However, the front desk staff were nice and very helpful. The location is great and easy to find. Less than 5 minute walk to Queen station for the bus. There was a Tesco less than 3 minutes away, and a pub across the street. More importantly, as a solo female traveller, I never felt unsafe. I would stay here again as it's a cost effective option in Liverpool.

Excellent location,very clean,netflix in room on smart tv.tea and coffee making,hairdryer in room (only negative was not enough milk in room and no one on desk to get some at 10pm)but tesco 5 mins away ,open until 11pm Very quirky hotel ,rooms on small side but to be expected you are in a old cell.
