Great value for money amazing breakfast

Don't be fooled by the online room pictures, they are not in anyway a true representation. The room was small, cramped and extremely out dated, there was not one bit of colour in the room apart from the TV. Rationing is obviously still in place here as you only get 1/3 of a loo roll for a two day stay. The rooms, the accomodation building itself and the garden could be beautiful given a bit of time and attention. Everything is just very tired and needs improving. The bed was the most uncomfortable thing ever; meaning it was that hard I didn't get any sleep, the dog leg stairs to the rooms are ridiculously narrow and steep, so if you have any mobility issues it is a definite no go. When we booked we had requested an accessible room; as I have neurological problems affecting my mobility. We rang several times to check if our request had been realised but no one answered the phone. When we arrived at the pub we were expecting a warm, friendly reception from the staff as previously read in reviews but this was unfortunately not the case (except for the manager). The checkout time is stated as being noon but in actual fact s 11.00am and the cleaner comes round at 10.50 to make sure you've vacated the premises. On the positive side the room was very clean and covid measures are in place all around the pub and accomodation. Overall though a thoroughly disappointing staycation :-(

Great location lovely old buildings and excellent pub on hand for food and drink. The room was spacious if a little stark. Good breakfast.

Rooms are over the road from the pub. My room was spacious, but condition and decor was not wonderful. Pub is full of character.

The manager is particularly friendly and welcoming

Stayed here for 2 nights in November with my partner to celebrate my birthday. Was thrilled to find a bottle of Prosecco in our bedroom with compliments of Glynn who had remembered me saying about my birthday when I had first met him in October. Everything was top class from the friendliness and service of the staff, the comfort of our room and the high quality and chpices of the breakfasts and the evening meals. The beer was good too. Loved it and would not hesitate to stay hete again.

Mould in bathroom and below bedroom window. Bed was extremely uncomfortable.

The service we received booking in was very good and couldn’t have been more helpful. The room we were allocated was a good size, the beds were comfy and clean. However the bedroom and shower room were showing significant signs of wear. There were areas where the plaster was coming off the walls and in the shower room the majority of the floor tiles were broken and in need of replacement. The breakfast provided was very good with a good range of continental and cooked options available.

This is a historic property with a pub/restaurant that is worth the trip to experience. The bed was comfy the shower needed some grout cleaner to make things look much better.
