Motel 6 Merrillville, IN

The 1st room smelled smoky and had to be changed. The rooms were very old and out of date. Matress was lumpy and loud. Hallways were dirty. There was debris of trash and leaves when you walk in the corridor. But there was no refund so i had no choice but to stay. Price the same as some of the modern hotels. Worst hotel I ever stayed in. Will never use motel 6 again!!!

Booked a king on the app, paid ahead. Got to hotel about 40 minutes after booking, no one wearing masks or social distancing which is required everywhere in Lake county Indiana. Told the king I rented wasn't ready, run was dirty, did I want to wait an hour or accept a double. Took the double, went to room to find only 1 light worked in the whole room and the bathroom was never cleaned. The toilet was clogged with feces and cigarette butts. Called front desk, brought me a key to room across hall. This room had a clean bathroom and lights but no fridge or microwave (which is why I rented the king to begin with) and the ac was on the fritz! A fan blows cooler air. The back entry door had no handle, which kept it from actually closing properly and locking, making it easy for ANYONE to get into motel. Slipped in tub and felt the tub sink. Beds were very uncomfortable and loud. I've stayed at many motel 6 over the last 30+years and never had an experience like this. Oh, wait, no bath towels, only 2 washcloths and 2 hand towels. Whole facility needs a makeover, starting with staff!!! Also checked the site an hour later, 2 kings available and for $60.55+tax before any discounts

We didn’t stay. While the staff was really nice, the place is set up like a prison. Locked hallways, cannot open the windows, and it seemed residential for local thugs. They were all posted up and hanging out in front of the only entrance. There was a power outage in the area due to a tornado. I get it - but because the clientele was so unsavory, it didn’t feel safe to pack up and load out in complete darkness. When my fiancé and I went to assess the probability of safely leaving, we were incredibly upset that there were physical fights between female guests or visitors of guests in the parking lot. Everyone had turned the parking lot into a tailgate party and were heavily drinking and smoking weed. I didn’t expect the staff (one small girl that couldn’t have weighed more than 90lbs) to intervene and it was incredibly stressful that it didn’t feel safe or comfortable in the room or leaving my vehicle parked in the parking lot. We checked in at 7:30, the power went out at 8:15, and by 11pm we were loading out. Nobody was anywhere near the office and it was my understanding that power was out at that location all night and well into the next day. Although I left my key at the front desk drop box, I was still charged the full rate “cancellation fee”. Certainly would not return to this location, would absolutely NOT recommend it, and am strongly considering never using hotels.com again to book after how the entire matter was handled.

I did not stay because the sheets weren’t cleaned. My door wouldn’t close unless you pushed real hard which meant if you were not thinking about it when you left then it would be unlocked. I called down to the owner and she didn’t answer. However she was right next to the phone when I walked down right after I hung up. She didn’t refund my first night because she said I stayed more than 10 minutes in the room (true story) and I was flabbergasted. I received my refund for the other night and left the room just like I found it. I went over to the Hilton Garden Inn.

I liked nothing at all from when I got there to the time I checked out I ordered queen size beds and got twin size beds and when I let the hotel staff know about it she told me that she just works there then my air conditioning did not work and I told them about that the man came to my room and fix it and it went out again so I proceeded to take a shower and there was no towels in my room non what so ever later that night I get in bed and my covers were wet so I called the front desk for a hour and no answer so I went to the front desk and asked them for some covers and towels and he told me he can only give me one cover and one towel so overall experience I hated my stay at motel 6

Bedbugs were discovered In my bed And I just couldn’t do it after that had to leave . Awaiting compensation

I had booked three rooms one I requested a handicap home they had no handicap rooms at the time so I ended up with a regular room so disappointed

Worst olace I've ever stayed

Good stay, comfortable bed. Bathtub was dirty though and disappointing. Service was kind and good

I will never go back to that place again very bad service
