Sails In The Desert

Was allowed an early check in, our room was nice clean and spacious- very comfy bed. We celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary and were given complimentary champagne in the room which was lovely!! Staff were amazing, the food and pool was pretty good too. Close to everything Would go again

Top notch hotel near Uluru. Considering the value for money ratio from previous reviews is low, I was worried the hotel is a rip off. Far from it. Ok, price is high but you're in the middle of Australia with 250km (3h drive) from the main Stuart highway. They have 3 trucks twice a week drive all the way from Adelaide (about 1,600km) to supply them and take the rubbish away again. Staff was friendly, room amazing and 5 min walk to 'town' centre. Saw Uluru from the balcony. Would stay there again.

A bit underwhelming for a 5 star hotel and definitely overpriced but all hotels in the area are owned by the same group so you don’t really have a choice. Rooms are spacious with some thoughtful inclusions. Staff are friendly but a bit clueless (need more training). Our room was not serviced one day so we came back in the early evening to change for dinner to an unmade bed and untidied room... An apology and some compensation from the hotel was appreciated but we left with the impression that this hotel could & should do better

Sails in the Desert is the upmarket accommodation facility in the Yulara complex. It, together with other associated facilities and town centre provided many options for shopping and dining.

Being the only 5 star property on the Resort, it is as good as can be. Staff are excellent and service is great. The rooms could have had more air circulation especially the bathroom, no exhaust fans was a bit steamy and messy after a shower.

We both got food poisoning, on separate nights, from different foods. The room cleaner didn't come until 6pm one day, which while I respect it is 'later' was just beyond ridiculous because we were back and sitting before dinner, and so it was just too awkward and told him to just give us some more toilet paper. And they didn't even come at all another day even though we took the do not disturb off by 6am. The bed was ridiculously uncomfortable, we both left with back pains, with extremely starchy loud doona that is only protected by a loose sheet. And while I expect that at cheap places, at 400+ per night, is ridiculous. When I tried to pay my bill it was a bit of a hassle because he was trying to hurry me out to serve next person in life - which is funny because I'm trying to give you money but whatever. And at 400+ per night, I'm wondering what exactly I paid for. Room cleaning was non existent to us apparently, breakfast isn't included (which I was under the impression it was), bad bed, the room smelt quite badly of new paint... so where's the money go?
