Excellent breakfast. Friendly service with a personal touch. Excellent value
Tall Storey's is a lovely, tall(!) Regency town house toward the top of the cliffs, above Scarborough Harbour and just below the Castle. It is an easy 20 minute walk from the rail station (drop into the Market Hall on the way) or a somewhat more strenuous walk up the hill from South Beach! The rooms are medium-sized and nicely furnished with four poster beds and armchairs. (I hate hotel rooms where you have to sit on the bed!) Ian and Morna are welcoming and accommodating. True, there is no lift and the stairs are rather steep and narrow, but if you are OK with this, it is a charming place to stay. We have stayed in Room 4 about 4 times now and we love just sitting and looking out the window at the boats coming and going in the harbour. The rooms are very quiet, though the seagulls can make a bit of a racket in the morning, but that is the seaside! The house is in a great location for all the attractions and has some nice eateries nearby. (We recommend Clark's and Lanterna.) Good showers and toiletries; tea and coffee with biscuits and mints in the room. Breakfasts are good quality and plentiful. Nice fruit, good cooked items. The only small item I can say that is a tinyh criticism is that sometimes there is a bit of a smell from the drains, but nothing much and in an old house like this, it can only be expected sometimes.
Like: Lovely Hosts Sensational Breakfast. Dislike: Steep narrow stairs
It was a listed building, smallish rooms and 4 poster beds. We stayed in the attic with latest views across the bay. The owners were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Would definitely stay here again.
Lovely place and breakfast. Not suitable for anyone not good at walking due to lots of stairs.
Our stay was just an overnight stopover. We received a friendly greeting nd our room was quaint and comfortable if a little cramped. Tea and biscuits were available in our room with some mints and Chocolates too. We could not fault the breakfast which was excellent and service was very attentive. The parking was on street, spots were hard to find and surrounding roads. are very narrow. The B&B was close to the castle and the seafront but the area was very hilly so good fitness is required if exploring on foot. We had a little trouble getting the electric shower to a usable temperature and no one had explained the pull switch to us. Overall it was fine for our needs and we would come back again
Amazing couple , breakfast and perfect location . Thank you so much for a amazing stay . See you again in Feb
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We had a beautiful view of the harbour from our room and a stunning 4 poster bed. They were very accommodating at all times and catered to my gluten and lactose intolerances. We were also recommended to local pubs that were dog friendly. Would highly recommend Tall Storeys and will certainly return ourselves.
What a super hotel we found in Scarborough. The hosts are passionate about the service they provide. The hotel is in an excellent position close to the beach and town and has wonderful sea views. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Tall Storeys and we will return for another stay.
Enjoyed the stay. Great service and breakfast. Very friendly owners. Very good location.
