This was probably the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had. Let’s start with check-in. The “express” check-in took about an hour. The woman checking us in kept telling me my card wasn’t working, when it actually turned out to be her machine. We next headed down to the pool/bar area to grab a drink and some food. Find out the only beer they serve pretty much everywhere is tecate light. The buffet was pretty bad. They do have soft serve machines which was the only redeeming quality. There are other a la carte restaurants, but good luck making a reservation because you cannot. We were able to snag one reservation for the Italian restaurant at 9:45 at night and the look of the gnocchi made me want to leave. As an aside, every time we tried going to enter our room our key cards didn’t work so we had to walk to the front desk at least 3 times. They told us the cards couldn’t be around cell phones or credit cards (and ours weren’t) and we asked for a few extra room keys and were told it’s 25usd extra. The resort isn’t really all-inclusive. The bowling is 15usd per game, per person. The room service is about 9 bucks a meal. This place is a total joke. I have Gold member status at hotels.com and this is a VIP property and they did not honor our GUARANTEED 2:00pm checkout, Our patio light wouldn’t turn off and I called the front desk and they told me they would send someone and never did. The only redeeming quality is that housekeeping is very, very nice.

Service was terrible. They were out of premium wrist bands so it was a fight using our premium benefits. Pool was slimy. Food was much to be desired. Not enough workers for the amount of people they are booking

We loved everything! My husband and I stayed at the Caribe and the bed and room was very comfortable and clean. The food in the buffet and restaurants was wonderful! We enjoyed the Italian, Japanese, and Mexican restaurants. Very good service and kind people. We also loved the beach which was maintained very well. Plenty of lounge chairs available and beautiful pools. We had an issue with not receiving one of our COVID test email results, and the rep at the Caribe desk walked to both testing sites to retrieve the result for us while we were waiting at the airport. I took advantage of the diving and went on 2 great dives. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

The food was just awful. It really isn’t all inclusive. The require mask at one side of a round outdoor bar but not the other, which is just ridiculous. The staffs goal was never to make sure we’re enjoying yourself. I wouldn’t go back here for free.

Overall we had a beautiful stay at Maya Beach Resort. We originally booked Maya Caribe and was moved to the Maya Beach when we arrived, the two resorts are identical, and we actually enjoyed the daily buffet at the Beach more than at Caribe, though they are mostly the same. Liked that we were able to use 4 out of 6 resorts on site (Beach, Caribe, Colonial, and Tropical) .. if you stay at Palace you can visit all 5, if you stay at the Riveira Adults only you can visit all 6, but honestly the place is so big, you'll enjoy staying within the 2-3 resorts next to yours. PROs- VERY clean resort was impressive in my opinion. You can tell they wash/clean and take care of the rooms and the property very well! Landscape is pretty. - Beach front is huge and they clean and groom the beach regularly of garbage and the seaweed. - Food was great, 4/5 starts in my opinion but have a high bar on food. -Staff was friendly. CONs - Check in is so slow, even with 5 people working the front desk, the resort gets so many people at a time, it takes a long time to check in. - our room was not ready when we arrived, and when it was "ready" the room had been in the middle of maintenance which was not communicated properly to front desk. We went back to front desk and they gave us another room. From what we've seen all the rooms are exactly the same, just either your closer to the beach or closer to the buffet. Either way you'll be walking around alot which we liked as it kept us active.

I liked the variety of restaurants to choose from and the property had a variety of amenities. The air conditioning in my room did not work properly and the mini fridge was just over warm. I was told it was fine by the staff. The college kids that were there screamed up and down the halls all night and were never addressed by staff. I have a small child that was kept up all night.

There was no communication, lack of information, inability to book a la carte restaurants or spa, very outdated practice whereby one had to go to the front desk to handle anything. The property is massive so this was very inconvenient.
