Pumilio Mountain & Ocean Hotel

Without the construction going on I would have given a 4. I was going to this hotel for 4 nights because there was a construction in my house and I wanted to escape to work from a hotel close to the beach but when I arrived their I was greeted with construction noise. On top the bathroom flush was running the first night. I had to move to a different room. At this point I felt maybe I just should move to a different hotel. The manager didn’t wanted to credit the remaining 3 nights so I moved to another room. They gave me the best room with kitchen (25). Luckily the construction noise was the worst on arrival day and the first day after this they didn’t make too much noise anymore. In terms of noise be aware that the waterfall runs from like 7am to 9pm. I asked them to turn it off a little earlier so that you can enjoy the sound of the nature around the hotel. The rooms with jacuzzi (no kitchen) are more quiet since they are in a different building. So if you are looking for a super quiet hotel it might be not your best option especially when the hotel would be fully booked (which luckily was not the case). The rooms itself are quite big and nicely decorated. The kitchen is at the open terrace and basic equipped. Internet is fast and reliable. The breakfast is standard Costa Rican with fruits, yogurt, gallo pinto and fresh prepared eggs. The current discounted price was attractive but for more than 2 nights I rather would look for an apartment on Airbnb with a nicer kitchen.

Very good hotel, no good location, you need a car .

Overall an average experience. Good points including nice staff in hotel office especially Maricela and Cindy. Probkems: Breakfast service was rushed for some reason. Brought food to us 1/2 hour too early — kids still asleep, food became cold. Also staff seemed rushed to come and collect dishes and things before we were finished. Not a relaxing situation. Opening and closing gate to come and go from premises was very cumbersome, felt at times like we were staying in a correctional facility. Beautiful hotel just need to get the breakfast service improved and make it a bit easier for guests to come and go.

Nice property in a quiet place. The hotel is design for the comfort of the visitors and have all needed to have a resting family vacation.

Cool little place in the foothills above Jaco, super quiet and clean. Rooms all have kitchenettes and full size refrigerators. Pool is beautiful and we saw wildlife every day. Good jumping off place for all the beaches and Manuel Antonio park. Let them book your park day as they hooked is up totally with a great driver and private guide.

Quiet, small property. Location is a few miles outside of town, which was nice for us. Clean and new feeling. Breakfast was delicious.

Staff were amazing, they were very attentive and made sure we had a good stay
