Hotel Oberkirch am Münsterplatz

Fantastic hotel at which I had a wonderful stay. Great location, very friendly staff, excellent food and very comfortable and immaculately clean room. I stayed there a week and could not have been made to feel more welcome. I have highly recommend to stay here if staying Freiburg or the Black Forest, I will definitely will make a return visit.

Hotel Oberkirch is perfectly located in the Altstadt in Freiburg. Seconds away from the cathedral in town square and the beautiful old market building (the red building famously in all of the photos of Freiburg's Old town!) - everywhere is easily accessible. The staff were very friendly and the property comfortable and clean. One thing that guests should be aware of is that being in such close proximity to the church, there is definitely no escaping the church bells that go off. I don't mind them and find them beautiful, but for those that are less inclined, the hotel helpfully provides earplugs in the rooms :) I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here who is visiting Freiburg and hopefully will be back soon!

We upgraded our room at a very reasonable rate to have a Cathedral view and it was well worth it and the room was HUGE and had so much character. The daily market opens up in the morning just outside. We ate at the restaurant twice and it was very good. The breakfast was very good as well. Highly recommend for a unique place to stay.

Our room looked directly onto the cathedral and the platz which was wonderful. The hotel is very convenient to the Alt Stadt. The front desk staff was very helpful and pleasant, and parking was very convenient.

What I liked was its location on the Muensterplatz .

Great hotel in a very very central locations. Great breakfast, can be taken on the terrace facing the Freiburg Münster (main church). Also a delight for dinner, very good restaurant.

Nice room and breakfast room Sadly our room smelt of smoke. Disappointing considering we selected a superior room. Our bedroom window was above the little courtyard which is where we think the kitchen staff cam out for a smoke which ended up in our room as we sleep with the window open

The location is great. Our room looked out over Munster Plaza. The food in the restaurant was very good. It is centrally located with public transportation within easy walking distance.

Beautiful old hotel in the historical centre of town. The hotel was very difficult to drive to, and we weren't sent any guidance to assist but when we called the hotel, the staff were amazing - guiding us in by phone then taking our car away to park it for us. Wifi was barely adequate but I suspect that is more about old buildings than a lack of effort.

Great location in the old town center, complimentary water bottle and apples were great, well-functioning internet, bed very comfortable. Had dinner at the hotel which was excellent, breakfast was freshly prepared, eggs to order very tasty.
