Comfort Inn & Suites Scarborough-Portland

This place is the standard in low-to-middle priced chain hotels today. While there was nothing wrong with my two-night stay at the same time there was nothing remarkable about it either. The room was as expected, a comfortably sized room with two queen beds and the beds were ok. Not bad, not great. The free breakfast was ordinary with the usual array of cold cereal, coffee, milk and juice with a waffle maker - pretty much the standard now in free breakfasts. My caveat is that if you're planning to spend time in the Portland area you may want to look for another place as this is about 5 miles south of South Portland and a bit isolated - unless you're going to Scarboro Downs which is next door.. OTOH, it was reasonably priced so I feel I got what I paid for, a clean room with two good beds, free wi-fi, and a free breakfast. . .

Room is fine for the price. Towels are discolored and stained. TV should have a local guide. Coffee maker difficult to use in current location due to very short cord, so moved it to another table.

The front desk is polite and helpful. It was annoying to have our room keys reactivated literally 5 separate times. The room was clean. Clean sheets, clean floor, clean mirrors, clean vents, etc. The breakfast was fine. Plenty of options, hot and cold The indoor pool was quite chilly for being "heated." The beds were very uncomfortable. I rarely ever have a stiff back or neck after a nights rest. Not the hotel's fault, but our neighbors were smoking pot from the evening to first thing in the morning. I didn't want to report it with only 1 night person at the front desk and the hotel being mostly empty in January. Overall, you get what you pay for. With other hotels in the area, we will try a different one next time.

Everything was good...the room was clean, the only thing that became a problem was the room heater fan had a very loud thumping sounds, (room #202). The hotel was pretty empty on my second night, the front desk seemed vacant for quite awhile, not that I needed anything... just when I came in from getting dinner, and then when I went out get something from my car... still vacant.

The hotel was incredibly clean and we'll kept. The staff was incredibly kind and caring. The Continental Breakfast was very tasty, especially the eggs... so creamy smooth. Thank you for a wonderful stay... we'll be back.
