InterContinental Resort Aqaba

First the check in was not warm welcoming . They tried to charge for breakfast even though it was included in the price .luckily I had a print out of the reservation otherwise they would not have beleived me. Then the manger says it is a system mistake ! Then they want to charge 50$ per night for a roll away bed. At check out they wanted to charge 30$ per hour for 2 hours i requested. A hamburger is 17$ at poolside . Honestly the hotel is not worth the money especially when i paid 230$ per night.

The location, the amenities and the staff were very good boardering on exceptional. However, the rooms are in dedperate need of modernization and renovation in particular for the rate being charged.

We have stayed in many hotels around the world and can vouch that this is one of the best we have stayed, from waseem at the reception to the main manager. They all went out of their way to please us including a late check out. The family rooms are very spacious and include a partition dividing wall. The beds are very comfortable. Each of the two children had separate beds (1 was a double sofa bed). Looking at the other beaches at Aqaba, intercontinental has the most spacious, cleanest with fantastic pools! All the main food places, tourist attractions, shopping etc is within walking distance. The hotel internally is very well presented from the art work to the live piano playing. The breakfast was....AMAZING! You need at least 1.30 hours to savour it all. If you are considering a hotel with class that will cater for both you and the kids then look no further. Very highly recommended!

I liked the breakfast, room, TV, hospitality, beach, and swimming pool. I didn't like that the beach at night was very dark.

Was a great hotel, with wonderful staff Mustafa at reception who was always happy to help in any way he could to make your trip to Jordan more pleasant, would definitely recommend the hotel for anyone staying in Aqaba

I cannot recommend this resort to a friend. My wife and I were very excited to stay at this resort, because it had amazing reviews. But, upon walking into the hotel we immediately smelled cigarette smoke infused with overwhelming perfumes. The smell was everywhere and if you are not used to cigarette smoke, then this may not be the stay for you. The cigarette smoke smell was embedded in walls and hallways around the hotel. We could even smell it in our "non-smoking room", through the ventilation system. Overall, my wife and I had an underwhelming experience. The decor and ambiance of the resort was lacking. The food was not good, either. Throughout the trip we stayed with other notable brand name hotels and the experience was as promising as expected.

Very Expensive hotel which does not live up to expectations when paying for 5 star. Firstly, they will not allow you to bring in any drinks or snacks from outside. They search your suitcases! I have never had this before in any hotels I have stayed in. They do this so you have to pay their expensive prices for food & drinks. Their wines are terrible yet they charge 5 star prices - £11 for a small glass of cheap French wine you can buy for €2 a bottle in France!! They advertise free 24 airport shuttle but this is not a available. Building works on pool not advertised. Pool is so cold you cannot swim in it! To make this a balanced review I will say that the beds were very comfy. The spa is nice but although segregated by gender they allow people into the spa services fully clothed! Not hygienic in a whirlpool. Lovely touches like free ice box with water on the beach and someone comes around to clean your sunglasses on the beach! However, this does not make up for the extortionate prices and ripping off the customer. I wanted a taxi to the airport but they would not allow an outside taxi up to the hotel to collect my bags because they wanted me to use their taxi that was 3 times more expensive - they made us drag our bags down to the road! Ridiculous Would not recommend unless you have money to burn.,,
