Residence Inn by Marriott Jackson Ridgeland

The fireplace didn’t work, you could smell paint from where they are remodeling! Candace the clerk was absolutely amazing! She was very kind, helpful and has such a wonderful person. I hope that she’s still there when we go back!

Overall....the hotel is dated. The lobby is nice & still being renovated but the rooms are just horrible. This property isn't a typical Marriott property.

Very unpleasant. Major renovations happening on every floor. No indication of renovations on the website. We were given a room, 308, on the 3rd floor. As we approached the door to that room, we found the door open, a tv playing in one bedroom, and the refrigerator was pulled out into the middle of the kitchen area. Paint fumes were strong on the entire floor. Over powering for my dad who has COPD. We were reassigned a room, 216, on the second floor, no fumes on this floor although work was being done on this floor also. This was 7:00 pm. Ladders were leaning against the wall, broken off utility knife blades(an extremely dangerous hazard), staples, and screws laying in the hall way. Imagine a toddler in this environment. A miter saw and extension cord was obstructing the hall way. Difficult to maneuver with a wheel chair. The room did appear to have been renovated. However, the tv did not work in the second room. The tub surround was pulling away from the wall, wallpaper peeling away from the wall. The room I selected was supposed to have a walk in shower. Neither of these rooms had a walk in shower. I wonder if the owner of this facility accepted the lowest bidder for this remodel. I also wonder why would you not at least have the remodel done on one floor at a time. We were in town because my dad has cancer and was scheduled for a early morning procedure the next day.

Lacking of room maitainance and in the web it didn't mentioned that it was under construction.

Smell in the lobby was awful. A very bad way to start the experience. Room was not cleaned properly (hairs in sink, dirty carpets, etc.).

Clean room, easy check in and checkout. It was quiet as well.

The rooms had not been updated or remodeled for years. There were rips in the bedskirt, and the carpeting was well worn and in need of shampooing. The walls ere thin and we were bothered by loud talking through the next door room walls at the head of our bed until I complained to management at 1:30am.

Our room was very nice and clean. The only issue we had was the continental breakfast had nothing but they may have been due to COVID. The pool was closed as well but that's understandable. We will definitely stay here again next visit.

The beds were very uncomfortable, the staff made us come down to get a pillow and blanket and was unfriendly. Walls are very thin and it was noisy. But it was an okay place to stay for just a few hours before our flight. I probably would look elsewhere in the future though.

After a drive from FL with a toddler in the car, although they showed my reservation, they did not have any rooms available, they were full. Desk person did attempt to find a room next door, but I ended up jumping on computer and finding a hotel that worked for my family, as I had some specific needs, which is why I originally booked this hotel. I was extremely disappointed in the situation and how it was just not really a big deal to the check in clerk...attitude seemed to be "it happens".
