Embassy Suites Tampa Downtown

**2-queen suite with tub was nice. However, tub & shower were awful. Small dried grout & drywall droppings in tub. Holes in walled tile where plumbings been replaced or moved. Orange water came out of tubular/wand-type shower head that hangs below main shower head. Nowhere near enough towels or amenities for us 4 in room. **Drinks at night & breakfast in morning were average. **Views of city nice. Can see some water views from upper lobby floors. **Stairwells between floors were outside & not in hallways or near elevators. Spouse had room key when I went exploring main floors so I found this to be odd (i.e. bad weather, emergency, etc.) They have signs out encouraging guests to use these stairs due to Covid but they are not convenient. **Front desk personnel, esp. Kenny, were friendly. **Across the street from convention ctr & Harpoon Harry's (a pricey above average but not excellent seafood restaurant). **If we return to Tampa, we'll try Marriott or Hilton, etc. ***It's just a name like theirs with their history, location, and nearby competition, there was no luxury or ease to anything we saw or heard. Long line for limited drink choices, food thrown out to choose from for breakfast, no bellman to bring cart & help with luggage, had to ask for even the minimum # of towels for 4, no working ice machines (no signs posted so Covid or?), etc.

Location was amazing only complaint was how expensive the parking was $30 a night I felt it was a little much.

The hotel, and location we fine. When checking into the hotel our TV was not working properly as the screen was fuzzy. Since we didn’t plan on using it, I neglected to say anything. I have since been charged $300 for damaging the TV. I have called and left multiple messages as the proper person to speak with seems to never be there and have not received a call back. I still call and am In the process of challenging it through my bank.

It was a great location. The hotel did well with adapting to the COVID. Would stay there again.

I tried to use the contactless option as instructed from email from hotels.com, which was pointless. Hilton stated on the phone they don't get hotels.com information in their system so they could not set it up. Check in at the desk took a little bit but was smooth otherwise. When we got to our room, the room smelled of cigarette smoke, it chalked it up to them possibly spraying disinfectant as it was a very strong smell. That evening we noticed ants (on the 12th floor) in our bathroom and kitchen area where are food was. Bed were comfortable, and the view was great. I do have to say I was beyond impressed with the bellhop (James I believe) he is amazing and extremely helpful!! Working in this industry long ago, he is a superior employee so I do hope he gets recognition. Happy hour was a joke, one employee working the entire bar, waited 30+ no drink. Checking out was disappointing, when I requested our vehicle through valet, the valet told me they did not have my key that I must have taken it when I checked in. I told them no, that I had left my key on the steering column, but I did have my spare ( I said I will give this to you, but if you all lost my key fob I was not going to be happy). They get my car to the ramp, and the valet again tells me no key, I walk over and pull the key right where I said it was. So thankfully I did get my key, however I do question how my vehicle was locked as it will not lock with key in car. For this hotel having high reviews, Id expect better.

The corner room was noisy from the elevator all night long. The breakfast was subpar

The breakfast was amazing. The ceiling tile in bathroom fell down while there and we stayed 3 nights and no-one came to service our room or bring new clean towels the whole time we were there.
