Samba Vallarta - All Inclusive

Our room smelled like mildew. The walls were paper thin, and people were up late and up very early, so we heard them all as the halls were like giant echo chambers. We, in particular, had a very friendly next door neighbor who played what sounded like a toy music box version of the “go to sleep” kids song on repeat for 8 hours while we were trying to sleep. I slept with a pillow on my head. It was a special kind of torture to the point where I worry someone will read this and try it out on some poor soul. Our room did not have any hand towels, only one washcloth, and a cucumber in the sink drain. The shower was really special: the knob to activate the shower head turned the shower head partially on from the bath spigot until it turned so much that it fell off and shot water straight out of the knob at belly level, inactivating the bath and the shower. If you can drink enough of the all-included booze to wash away this sort of suffering, you are a better man than I. But, Bruno and the staff were friendly.

This hotel is fantastic. Clean, consistent reliable results from the hotel making the investment in our holiday more guaranteed to be a success. Service is quick to meet your needs. Hotel is smaller making it faster to get to the ocean and / or pool. Bathrooms are right at the entrance to the ocean. Activity center has items to borrow (boogie board) in case you need things to keep you and or kids busy. The ocean is a gradual drop and you can go out a ways without going in over your head. Overall, fantastic hotel.

We did a week long vacation at Samba early April. We were party of 6 with our parents and two kids included. We all had an amazing time at Samba. Rooms were fine and we got both balcony rooms with good view of the pool and backside. Amazing BERNARDO: Starting from the checking to helping with any questions to getting us right room to booking our covid test appointment(required for US return) BERNARDO was there always. He was very awesome to work with and super helpful like all the other reviews say. FOOD: We are all vegetarians and there are very limited options without eating same food every day. MASTER CHEF PEDRO worked with us to prepare special vegetarian dishes for us most of the day for lunch and dinner. He would coordinate our meal timings with us and prepare food accordingly. Food was great. PHOTOSHOOT: Photographer NATALIA is a very talented individual. She took some amazing photos of us as a family and individuals creating lifelong memories for us. I highly recommend doing the photoshoot with her to capture your Puerto Vallarta memories for life. All in all good stay.

The resort was on a beautiful beach and had great amenities. The food was ok, there was always lots of it. Room was big but not very updated. Staff was friendly.

Given the bargain price for this property, I suppose I got what I paid for. That said, it should be noted that it was pretty disappointing. The staff around the resort were great Very friendly. However, the buildings and conditions are old and deteriorating. Our room smelled. There was black mold on the shower tile grout. You couldn't leave the toilet lid open. Sheets also smelled. And absolutely no decor or warmness inside the room. Food quality was bad; little variety, lots of recycled food items in different forms, little healthy options. Bar options also limited. The bar tenders didn't know how to make half of the drinks I asked for. Barely any premium brands. Loud music was played 11-12 every night. I was also offered little remedy to switching rooms or getting any money back. Beach was very nice. Overall, I would not stay again. But, if you are looking for a low cost, no frills option, this is your best bet.

I don’t know why all the reviews are saying that the food was poor but the food was amazing. The buffets are open for breakfast lunch and dinner time and are closed otherwise but the food is delicious and the staff are on top of cleaning at all times. They do their best and make sure everyone’s stay is going well. If you are traveling here for the first time I would suggest using the app called Indriver if you will be traveling within the city/to and from the airport. If you need any help they are always there even if you need to change out USD for pesos.
