The Yorkshire Hotel, BW Premier Collection by Best Western

The room was freezing and looked dated compared to the pictures, we arrived at 6pm and the windows were open and heating didn't work, the staff put a heater in the room for us but at some point in the night the heating started working and the room was unbearably hot. We were also told we were at the front with a view but we were behind a chimney so you couldn't see anything. The room next to is was full of young people who were screening and giddy and kept coming in and out, this didn't help as we were already dissatisfied.

Value for money wasn’t expecting such a good room for the cheap price I paid Friendly helpful staff Only complaint was I got charged full £12 charge for parking for my motorcycle which was parked on kerb outside hotel other than that no issues

Check in was good, all the COVID measures in place felt well thought out, keeping guests safe without being overbearing. We booked a deluxe room, the initial room we got was very small - nothing like the photos - however on contacting reception they quickly switched us to another room. The member of staff who dealt with us could not have done more, she was great. In fact all the staff we encountered were polite and helpful, a credit to the hotel. The room was a good size, as was the bathroom. A nice size bath with a rainfall shower. However upon using the shower it became clear that the shower screen was completely inadequate, even a short shower soaked the bathroom walls and floor. The temperature of the shower was good but the pressure was poor. The communal areas of the hotel were kept nice and clean and the hotel had a nice feel. We ate in the hotel restaurant, Scran, were we had a distinctly average meal. The hotel menu in the room and on the hotel website advertises offers on cocktails until 10pm every day. Unfortunately these discounts were not evident when we were presented with our bill. We should have challenged this at the time, not doing so was a mistake. Alongside the staff, the location of the hotel is its main plus point, right in the centre of Harrogate, great for access to the shops, bars and restaurants and right across the road from Betty's Overall we had a good stay but not good enough that we won't look elsewhere for our next trip to Harrogate.

Great location in centre of town. Had a single room which was clean with a comfortable bed. & good shower. The room was a little on the cold side - there was a little heater but took a good while to be effective. Scran restaurant and bar is recommended - lovely, very reasonable food and nice booths to sit in.

Tiny bathroom. Armchair position in room was directly below wall mounted TV and when moved to a viewing position blocked access to bed and wardrobe

A very enjoyable stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and it looked like the bathroom had been recently done up to a high standard. The staff were very friendly and approachable, and had some lovely meals in the excellent restaurant and bar. Would definitely make a return visit.

Had a lovely stay. Friendly staff. Lovely room, upgraded by the hotel to a deluxe as celebrating our anniversary, very thoughtful. Great central location opposite Betty's Tea Rooms. Had a really nice meal in the restaurant, again friendly and efficient service. Covid measures very well maintained at all times. Would definitely return. Thank you

Enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Yorkshire. Our only complaint was that in room 331 we had a horrible smell of drains which we couldn't get ride of. Our windows were open when we arrived and we perhaps think this was for the reason for the smell. Other than that the room and facilities were comfortable. Had a meal in the restaurant both nights and found the food superb.
