did not think this hotel warranted a four star rating as it did not have aircon - a safe in the room , slippers or robe. it also never passed on the reduced vat rate to its customers. apart from that the bar staff who were also the waiters were very good.

Shower door was broken and cold shower in the morning

The staff were well trained and efficient, whilst remaining polite and friendly. The room was equipped nicely, cleanliness excellent. The name Ye Olde Bell and Spa is misleading as they are operated as two completely separate entities. Staying at the hotel allows you no access to the spa, I was offered two hours entry for £35 per person. Very disappointing.

Great food lovely place great staff powerful hot shower

We had a good size room. Unfortunately some of the paintwork was tired. There were a couple of holes in the curtain. It was noisy, as the room overlooked the road. Air con would have been helpful as we had to open windows at night which caused traffic noise. The net curtain in the bathroom was stained and looked old and tired. Unfortunately it fell down. There were brown water stains around the sink and floor didn’t look clean at wall edges. We felt the room was greatly overpriced. Could have got a better room in London for what we paid. Left a phone charger in the room. It was found. Would have been good if the hotel had telephoned me to say one had been found. The service was v good. All staff efficient and very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was v good. Wouldn’t chose to stay again unless prices dramatically reduced.

Lovely hotel in peaceful setting with great food and spa facilities. We received a free upgraded but unfortunately due to the hot weather we had to sleep with the windows open and had to listen to the whirring of the air conditioning units on the ground floor below room 26. Pillows lovely and comfy but bed was too firm for a good nights sleep

Comfortable room. Delicious food served by attentive, knowledgeable staff. Lovely gardens. The spa area was the best I’ve ever been to and the food was restaurant standard not just sandwiches and salad. I will definitely be returning soon.
