We enjoyed the villa we rented because it was not far from the pool and ocean. The smell of the room was not the best. It smelled moldy and I am allergic to mold.
Needs update
As a Westlake owner I bedroom unit not to Westlake standards. Room and hallway musty mildew smell had to get air Freshener front desk I have allergies . Outdated room
Pool and Hot Tub very well maintained. Room very comfortable.
The Hotel was good, it is just an old building that seems outdated. The room was comfortable, but unit at first smelled damp. We purchase an air fresher to neutralize the smell.

This older hotel (built in 1975) has been updated the entire time. Even though it may look "antiquated", it was very clean, large with 2 a/c units, plenty of room with kitchen, shower and separate jetted bath tub. Plenty of hot water, bed was unbelievably comfortable. I was seriously impressed with the property. Especially for the price and ocean front views!
The Room was actually a one bedroom 1 1/2 bath condo with kitchen . There was a beautiful view of the beach from the balcony. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Excellent place to stay.
This is worth every bit of their 2-star rating. It may be an ok value for that, but we were expecting more based on the reviews. Its mediocre at best. The "resort" isn't much of a resort at all. We never got to use the pool so I can't comment on its quality, but a small game room and a mini-cafe/bar is hardly a resort. It certainly isn't family friendly. Almost every tile in the room was chipped, the bottom of the tub coating was cracked, the shower door leaked and flooded the whole bathroom, two people couldn't pass through the kitchen at the same time because it was so tiny, and there was visible water damage on the doors and trim. I could not bring my children there, and ended up checking out a night early (with no refund) because of that. This is a glorified motel. They have a 72-hour refund policy, and there was no way for us to know how bad it was until we got there so no way to notify them in time that we would not be staying the last night. (checked-in Friday night, checked out Sunday morning instead of Monday) Also, it is listed on Hotels.com that you can make your deposit online and pay cash upon arrival--this is not true. They do not accept cash, so I had to put all 3 nights of this on my credit card which I was hoping to avoid.
