I booked a king balcony room for my husband and I to have a nice get away before Christmas. When we checked in we were told they were out of balcony rooms. The only reason we picked this hotel was for a balcony room. We already paid online when we booked, but the front desk charged us for the room a second time. They didn’t even seem to feel bad for the double charge and didn’t even offer to compensate us for the mistake on their end. I was told to check with my bank in 5-7 days. The room we did get was disappointing. The carpet is old, stained, and dated. The shower is so small that you have to stand really close to the wall or the shower head shoots water out of the shower into the floor. And there is not a good space to get ready with a mirror. There is one mirror in the bathroom but if your roommate is in there you can’t use it. The other mirror is the headboard of the bed, so it is not easy to see yourself. The staff beyond front desk were really nice. We had drinks at the upstairs bar and brought food “to go” back to our room because it was so crowded at the restaurant. We had a nice breakfast this morning at the restaurant too. We are local to the area, just looking for a nice place to get away for the night. We had been here for dinner previously and had heard how lovely and elegant this hotel was so we were excited to come here. We were very disappointed, and would have chosen a different hotel if we had known this hotel would not deliver on its reputation.
We have always wanted to stay in this hotel while visiting family for Thanksgiving. The staff was very friendly and always greeted us as we came in. I think there was a slight communication problem and I know this was partly due to Covid but even more important during these times. When we initially checked in, we pulled up front to unload our luggage but was never told there was free parking. We didn’t know that was an option and we paid almost $70 between parking fees and tips. The last night we were there, there was no valet out front and the front desk told us he had to run an errand. We parked our own car next door where we saw them park our car once before but was still charged for valet parking. Especially during Covid and being around older family for the holidays, we would have preferred to park ourselves and not have someone else parking our car even though they did wear masks.... just didn’t know about that option or where self parking was located. Also, our room was never cleaned. When we asked the front desk, they said it was due to Covid. This is completely understandable considering these times but it would have been nice if they had communicated that to us at check in. We had to go to the front desk to ask for additional soap, towels and coffee. I was a little disappointed by the lack of communication! Maybe when covid is over, we’ll give it another try!

I called days before and explained we would be there for my daughter to have surgery the following day and asked if we could possibly check in early. They informed me it best to call early the day of arrival, so I did and I was told I could check in an hour early. When we arrived it took the boy at the desk 15mins to acknowledge me, because he was too busy conversing about what time he or the person he was talking to were getting off and what they were doing after. He then takes no less than 5 calls while he was supposedly helping me and instead of asking them to hold and help me, he continued to converse over the phone. After 35mins of waiting for him to help he then tells me my room is not ready to please give them 10-15more mins and to sit in the lobby and he would come get me. 30+mins pass and at this time it is actually PAST my regular scheduled check in time and nobody has come to assist us again. So I wait in line for 20 more mins and am told, oh yeah its been ready and then am shoved my keys and signed in very rushed. The person in front of me was a hilton rewards member and was treated quite different. The only pleasant person was the bellman who brought us towels because our room had none. Side note, Im unsure why this hotel is listed as such an upscale establishment. The ceiling have visible water damage, the rooms smell dank, the shower had many issues with clogged hair and missing tiles, the window seals were falling & the room carpets and curtains were gross
The stay was amazing from the hospitality to the room to the food. Special recognition goes out to Herman Duncan, Margaret Taylor and Tarnasha Burke. My partner and I felt as if they went above and beyond to ensure that we truly enjoyed our stay.
My biggest issue was and still is because this has not been completely resolved yet, is that I paid in full via Expedia for a King room with a balcony. Went to check in, hotel was not paid by expedia and guess what got a King but no balcony. Well I had to pay the hotel just to get checked in. I spoke to Expedia and they finally realized their mistake but after 2 or 3 conversations with Expedia and the hotel. It was determined that the hotel refund what I paid them. This was this past Saturday so hopefully by this weekend I will have my refund but it has not hit the bank yet. I still got overcharged for a room i did not get by Expedia and the only they offered me was $25 credit. My suggestion is to make your own reservations with this hotel. I will say the beds slept great and the staff in valet, the bar, restaurant, were awesome and classy as hell. My room was clean just did not have a microwave that would have been nice.
The staff was amazing and friendly! The condition of the hotel-marginal. Elevators were questionable. Rooms were a nice size, but the walls were paper thin. Had to call front desk both nights -after 11:30 to get noise to stop. Then they charged me for parking and I didn’t have a car!!! So very disappointing!
The property is cute, needs to be updated. Pool is nice, but there are wasps all over the pool area and all over the building. Our first room the floor was soaking wet, they must have steamed cleaned the carpets and it smelled like animal urine. We asked the front desk to soak up the water and clean the floors better. We went to the pool. When we got back 2 hours later nothing had been done. We asked for a new room. They did accommodate that. The room was clean dry and didn’t smell. There aren’t many places that are decent in Augusta to stay, we would stay here again.
I can only speak for myself, but my stay here was terrible. We had a king room and it was super small with no microwave in the room. So we had to go down stairs in front of other guests to warm our food. The whole point of my trip was to spend Quality time with my significant other. The hotel was very stuffy and hot that it cause me to start coughing and staff told me that I couldn’t cough smmfh I felt that was an insult. I understand it’s COVID out here but I’m NOT sick hun. All I know is I will NEVER NEVER NEVER spend my money with them ever again. I didn’t like it so much I even checked out at 4am because it was uncomfortable.
Lovely staff and hotel.only there for 12 hours. Wish I could have stayed longer.
