The Johnstown Estate

Our view out the window was a white gable wall, mattress is in awful shape with springs completely gone in the bed, having a shower this morning and the water was clogged and my other half had to clean out the drain incase of flooding and to say what came out was disgusting is an understatement..Very disappointed especially paying 200euro b+b for the venue. Cannot fault the Service and breakfast, was excellent.

Myself and my boyfriend stay in a hotel for two nights! The bed was very comfy and the bathroom was big (had both shower and a bath). Our room was located at the very start of the corridor so it was noisy especially around breakfast time when people where opening the main door. Also, we had a view on an air condition pipes that were constantly making noise.. quite disturbing at the night time! Food in both restaurants was absolutely delicious and staff was super friendly also! The pool was clean and the gym has a very good equipment. We also had treatments in the SPA and they were lovely, no relaxation room available was the only minus.

Had high hopes as the photos looked amazing. First day was OK. Although dinner was at 6pm as you had to pre book and that was the only suitable slot available. Drinks were overpriced. Food was over priced considering what we received. Bed wasn't comfortable at all. The second day was very disappointing. We booked in for the swimming pool, the jacuzzi wasn't open and the outdoor spa wasn't open either. The spa wasn't open as it's being renovated, my fiance was booked in for a spa treatment and it was just in a normal room which was disappointing. Afternoon tea was nice but was overpriced in comparison to other similar hotels we've stayed in. There was an incident in the room next to us when we came back from afternoon tea the Garda were talking to someone and three garda cars were outside. We rang to reception to ask was everything OK and the receptionist laughed it off even through we are feeling very uncomfortable about it. Eventually the duty manager offered us a different room but we didn't need to be moved we just needed reassurance everything was OK. Dinner was a disaster. Food was poor & was waiting nearly a half an hour for dessert only for it to arrive and the brownie to be cold. My fiance didnt want it, and in the end put me off my dessert aswell. When I asked to speak to the manager I was left another 15-20 mins waiting. He offered to take the desserts off the bill (which we didn't eat) and 20% off the bill which still didn't seem sufficient. Wouldn't recommend

Lovely quiet spot, very clean rooms and great breakfast

Lovely stay in this beautiful hotel. Staff were exceptionally helpful and despite the revised restrictions we felt very comfortable. The spa is amazing and there was a mix up with the treatment and they were so helpful gave me a 2nd treatment and A beautiful bag with Elimis products I was so impressed with how the issue was delt with

Fabulous hotel. Great spa and fantastic breakfast

Hotel was good and clean. Booked into Spa over phone. Got massages of me and my partner mixed up and did not change them back when we asked. We were still charged full price afterwards.

Fabulous stay and the restaurant Fire and Salt was amazing definitely worth booking

The only problem for me was the confort in my room. I was freezing in my room for 3 nights from 4. I went to reception every evening to complain about this but only in my last night the heater was working like I have asked. It is true I received a blanket but all hours spent in my room except when sleeping, I was dressed in all my thick clothes that I had with me for not to freeze. Sorry for this review but this was the truth. Otherwise the hotel is excellent.

The room was not the room I ordered online. Food wasn't great and the condition of the room was very poor. I reported it to staff in the morning but conveniently no managers were available to speak to me.
