Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Charlotte I-485 at Highway 74E, NC

this was a repeat stay in THIS facility but not up to previous standards

The location of the hotel is off from everywhere but it doesn’t take long to get to shopping and restaurants. The hotel itself was ok, assuming the hotel had been cheaply remolded. Less then 5 minutes of checking in the hotel maintenance knocked on the door, didn’t give anyone time to open the door before just coming in. He said he had to hang a picture up in the bathroom but once he left I went in the bathroom no picture was never hung.Neither did he apologize for just barging in. The pool wasn’t clean at all a brown ring around it. The hotel smell was HORRIBLE. It smell like chlorine and mildew.

The place was clean, inviting. Staff was very pleasant. Looked it will be back

Overall, it was a positive experience. There were some minor areas of construction (cove base in room 316 had been pulled off), but all in all, a pleasant stay.

I don't typically review places, but this one was probably one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. The property itself wasn't bad, but the management was bad enough where I will never stay at a hotel by this company again. We were supposed to land in Charlotte on a Friday and had the room booked until Sunday, but our flight was delayed and we had to spend the night in Houston. No big deal. We land in Charlotte and drive to the hotel only to be told two things: 1.) Our room has been rented out to someone else. 2.) We still have to pay for the suite that we did not get to use and had been rented to someone else, qeffectively double charging for a single room. We got a smaller room, without the beds we requested, with a toddler and a newborn in tow. The previous twenty four hours had been a travel nightmare and we were looking to unwind and fully expected to pay for the night we missed, which would only be fair. Thankfully, hotels.com refunded us for the night that they had not kept our room that we were still billed for. Anyway, it's a trivial matter but I'd avoid this hotel at all costs. I just didn't understand how they were going to make it the hill they were going to die on, and I will recommend to everyone I know to avoid Country Inn and Suites.
