Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Chicago-Algonquin, an IHG Hotel

The girls there were great and I hate to respond negatively but it was the worst stay there yet. I’ve stayed before. Everything felt dirty, the cleanliness of bathroom was awful, I dropped an earring and saw just how much they don’t vacuum the room carpet thoroughly while face in it and I listened to children running for over an hour before someone finally put a stop to it even after calling twice to complain to front desk. The breakfast was a terrible option spread. This is hard with Covid, that I understand but even the breakfast microwave sandwiches tasted old. I’m truly not a negative person. I loved the service by front desk girls but the hotel needs way more attention.

Service was great but other people that stayed in the same floor were yelling and police was called. Waiting for refund for the inconvenience. Staff was understanding

Had snowed 2 days ago . Parking lot still was not cleaned. Had to walk over ruts of snow and ice to get to entrance

Walls were thin and heard the people in the room above us.

This property met expectations. The room was in good condition. There was no wow factor, but I will stay here again in the future.

We stayed on Dec. 18th. Upon opening the door to our room around 10pm, the trash was full with a second bag of trash sitting next to it, the bed was not made, and the floor was in obvious need of vacuuming. They gave us a different room, which was ok, but there was minor wear and tear throughout the room and especially in the bathroom. Not sure how this hotel was rated so highly. It was fine for a quick overnight, but for the price we were very disappointed.

I reserved a 2 queen and sofa bed suite. I received 2 emails from the Holiday Inn after booking the room. One to say Thank you and later, another saying if I needed anything to contact them. Upon entering the room after checking in, the room was a king bed with sofa bed suite. I went to the front desk and they said that the 2 queen bed suite was not able to be cleaned and made the change to the king. The Holiday Inn did not send me an email saying the room booked was not available nor did the front desk inform me when I checked in. The suite did not have a coffee table with the sofa as described. When I went to open the sofa bed at 1am to go to bed, since there was not 2 queen beds, I found there was no sheets or pillows for it. The experience and service from the Holiday Inn was not good during this visit.

Ok room but very outdated. Front desk girl was rude when i asked WHY they would charge a $90 incidental fee. The room was less than that!

Stayed for 2 nights. Check in was fast and efficient. Very friendly. Room was clean and comfortable.

We were there less than 12 hours. It is an older hotel with dimmer light. The room was clean and we felt safe during Covid.
