Riu Playacar All Inclusive

We always go to RIU resorts with some expectations and they exceeded our expectations again. The front desk team made us comfortable as soon as we arrived there. They have games and activities planned throughout the day. The kids center Riuland also is open for limited hours but they made sure kids are busy in activities. The pirate hat and treasure hunt, obstacle race was hit with the kids. They even had Santa giving out bags to the kids on xmas. Food is good but lunch menu gets repetitive, Xmas eve dinner was grand and they had loads of desserts. Beach is also nice one and we got to do the windsurfing for couple of days. Stephanie from entertainment team is so much fun and she made sure i burn off all those excessive calories with her fun classes.

Helpful staff, walkable location to Playa Del Carmen, and extremely clean. Room: Initially, I was booked a room in building four. I am a light sleeper and could not sleep due to the noise from the stage. They moved me to a room in building eight by the pool and I had no more noise issues. Food: Plenty of choices. I ate at all the restaurants at least once. The steakhouse and Mexican were my favorites. Walkable: From the resort it is only a half an hour walk to downtown Playa Del Carmen. A taxi from the resort to the same area is around 150 pesos. The walk is an easy one to do being mostly flat and all on sidewalks. Covid: The property is extremely clean. Every moment of the day it is being clean and sanitized. Due to the hotel being under capacity at the moment it was easy to distance from other guests. This was my first all inclusive resort. I was very impressed and would like to stay at a Riu property again.

Overall the property is okay. The lobby is very up to date but the rooms can use remodeling. The staff was amazing, specially housekeeping and the restaurant workers.

We really enjoyed our stay, however I didn’t like the pools closing at 8:00 pm. It’s a very clean place with friendly staff. The beach access is perfect and beautiful. I recommend this place.

We stayed here the 2 Nd week of October with a group of 10 friends. The hotel and grounds are beautiful and well maintained. We were very disappointed that half of the resort was closed. You could not get anything to eat after 10:00pm because the main restaurant was closed and the snack bar by the pool was closed. We were also disappointed that there was no bar on the beach. There was a restaurant by the pool area but they were very strict about not wearing swimsuits even with a coverup on. The sink in our room was stopped up and our toilet only flushed half the time. We reported this twice and it was never fixed. Our mini fridge was never restocked. The maid service would not pick up the towels you got from the pool, you had to take them back to the pool yourself. The food was mediocre. The bars had good service but a very small selection. We still had a great time with our friends but we will not be back

Very nice staff and the food was great. Very boring shows. Wasn’t a lot going on fun wise.

Horrible place. They put us on tue first floor and room stank so bad we didn’t last for 2 min . Than they transferred us to another room same thing. We finally called Riu Riviera Maya and were transferred there for additional charge. DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE. PLAYCAR is a 2 star resort.

I command all the people working so hard under a pandemic and still have a smile on their faces.gracias a todos.
