there is no sufficient sanitization and proper cleaning in the room, one if the towel was contaminated with wine droplets , in the bath the napkins box was empty and few dirty tissues stuck inside.

We were expecting a lot from the pictures we saw and the fact that it is De Vere unfortunately we left a little deflated. The grounds itself are beautiful, nothing to fault there as its very spacious, lovely terrace for drinks etc. and dining room, atrium all lovely areas to sit and relax in. The room was the most disappointing, we booked a deluxe double which was spacious and had a lovely large bed with clean bathroom, however there was a interesting smell and the room was hot for the time we were there and it was raining so not even that hot outside. They had provided a dyson fan, however we had to keep it on the entire night and duration of our stay, not ideal and doesn't aid a good night's sleep. There was also a wine glass left outside our door when we arrived which was not what I would have expected to see. We booked dinner at the restaurant, 1853, which was very good and between us we ordered the wok pots, pizza and chilli, all tasty items. Breakfast was the absolute worst, a bag with 'continental ' breakfast left outside your door before 8am, this consisted of a pastry, fruit pot, granola, orange juice and water. You then had to go downstairs to grab a hot sandwich and tea/coffee. I understand there have to be precautions and therefore changes in place but I so believe they could have thought this out a little to make it a more pleasurable experience, additionally for the price you pay I think you would feel a little shortchanged at this breakfast. Staff were nice.

Unfortunately whilst trying to keep guests safe during the Covid 19 pandemic the hotel has put in measures which make the stay disappointing including a limited and average evening meal menu - why mostly burgers and pizza? Also only a continental breakfast left outside the room although you could get a bacon bap from reception amd take it all to eat in the restaurant - why not proper breakfast service? Also only paper or plastic cups in the rooms - why when proper glasses, cups etc used in the restaurant?. If we had known in advance about the food we would have stayed elsewhere.

Lovely Hotel and stay as usual- just one fly in the ointment- the quality of the main course in the restaurant was very disapoointing plus the capability of the waiter to bring the correct bottle of wine!

The hotel was absolutely stunning with beautiful views and gardens. The room was slightly smaller than expected however was still a decent size. The meals in the restaurant had a good selection and dinner was was great. Lots of places to relax around the hotel and enjoy the grounds.

Had to change room due to noise and heat Avoid Room 7 it overlooks noisy fans and a yard.

Very specific atmosphere. Quite and unique place. Beautiful victorian building and grounds
