Hampton Inn Columbia-Downtown Historic District

The hotel was OK, but the service from the Night Auditor (NA) was not. The fire alarm went off around 3:30am our first night there. All the guests dutifully made our way to the parking lot and waited to hear what was going on. After about 15 minutes we were told someone must’ve been vaping in their room and we were clear to return to bed. By the time we got settled, the alarm went off again and we went back to the parking lot. This time we could tell something was off with the alarm because it would stop and start randomly. Some people were going inside to speak to the NA, some would come back out, some would stay in the lobby. Once the alarm stopped for about 10 minutes, I went in to speak to the NA and she said “I already told everybody they could go back to their rooms. I don’t know why everyone is standing around!” but she never addressed those of us in the parking lot. We got back to our room and the alarm went off again, so we went back to the parking lot. Some people brought their luggage and checked out. After the fire dept did another sweep of the hotel they found a leak that was triggering the alarm. But I was told this by a fellow guest and not anyone that worked for the hotel. Maintenance was called and we were finally in bed for real by 5:30. It was stressful for everyone, but the fact that she blamed a guest for the initial alarm and didn’t check to see if anyone was still outside waiting to go to the room was infuriating.

Exactly what they advertised. Comfortable room and very clean. I would stay here again in a heart beat!

Employees were not wearing mask correctly ( not covering nose). Customers not wearing masks at all.

The convenience of everything located near the hotel

Great hotel in downtown Columbia. First floor rooms can be a little noisy if you are street-side.

My only minimal complaint was there was leftover food in the mini fridge. Other than that, the stay was excellent!! Staff were all very friendly! I would definitely recommend this hotel to others!

Front desk excellent. Housekeepers not friendly. Place has gone downhill since Covid l. Advertising breakfast and its preservative laden junk and a brick hard apple. Pool cold and dirty. Sticking to 14.00 per day parking even though their lot is empty! Pay more get way less!

The rooms were spacious & very clean. Each & every staff member that I came in contact with was super friendly & helpful. I would highly recommend staying there. The value is well worth the price.

Our room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable! I wasn't crazy about paying extra for parking eavh night, but such is life in the city. Overall a great trip!
