La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Newport

Nice alternative to higher priced places in the area. Appears to have been updated but you can tell there are some places where it could still use some help. Our first room smelled really really bad but the super helpful front desk clerk quickly got us set up in another room and it was great.

Very clean, smelled new. The staff was very friendly. The night check in guy even remembered my name when we re-booked for a second night. It was quiet. I felt safe there as 2 females alone. (myself and teen daughter) Close to several things we wanted to do in the area.

Beds were comfortable and clean. I found trash under the desk. The walls were dirty in the entry and bath area, looking like there was water damage at some point.

I liked that the facility was clean and provided measures to keep us safe during this difficult times.

We have stayed here before and it was good. This time we had to move rooms twice due to FLEAS. The staff was great about it and I know this is a PET friendly place. Just sad.

The staff was very nice and helpful. They had hot fresh coffee at the front desk every morning. The room and facility was clean.

Let me start off by saying that the staff was amazing and helpful. Had a 1 night stay with wife, our 3 year old and our small service pet. The second we walked in to the room it reeked of dog and urine. We tried to trooper it out but then we saw the jumping fleas!!!!!! We tried to leave and book another hotel but it was close to 9PM and things were sold out. We switched rooms which was a little better but still had fleas (or we brought them with us from the previous room). It's 2 days alter and we are still fighting them off including our service pet which has taken multiple flea baths and medication. Picture of flea below. We also have a video of it.

Pets stay free! Which is great. The bed in our separate bedroom (king) was sooooo squeaky! Like the box spring was made out of patent leather or some kind of squishy material that made awful noises.

Very easy check-in process. However, during our room clean up for check out, I found laundry detergent stains and possibly makeup stains on the comforter. That would be the only...stain...on our stay.

Not what was pictured. Thought we would have a jaccuzi in the room. Basic suite is all we got. Although it was updated, the room was awkward and small. Not worth the money when you can stay on the northside with an ocean view for less.
