They are short staffed due to covid. But the location is beautiful. The heated pool could be nicer with better chaise lounges but otherwise it’s a lovely property.
I was very disappointed..The front desk had no knowledge about the resort or did the waitress at the one restaurant that was Open.. I understand that there are CDC guidelines and staff is limited to doing their jobs in their usual way ... but not to hear or see a staff member for the length of our stay is unacceptable ...for the cost of the room we should have at least been asked if there was anything we needed .... will not return
Booked two queens and sofa bed upon arrival told room not ready ( 1500) instead placed in room with one king and dirty sofa bed with stained mattress . Grounds not kept up , pool dirty - not worth 500 a night !! Won’t go back.
We were very disappointed with the Spruce Point Inn. It looks gorgeous online and while the location is absolutely beautiful, the hotel and it's amenities are in desperate need of updates. The rooms while clean and spacious are dreary and dated. I think the pullout couches in our room were at least 20 yrs old. I didn't want to sit on them let alone let our kids sleep on them. The furniture and landscaping in the pool areas were lacking, dated and uncomfortable. Overall, we felt like we this was a step up from camping and for a price point of $400 a night, we had much higher expectations. We had just spent 4 nights in at the Bar Harbor Inn prior to coming to Spruce Point Inn and I wish we would have stayed there longer and not bothered staying at this hotel at all. Spruce Point Inn should visit the Bar Harbor Inn (same price point per night and included free breakfast) and see what a beautiful hotel with exceptional service is all about.
Great stay - place was perfect for family -
The resort is very nice, with lots of spectacular views and some nice services. But unfortunately we found our room dirty, as well as the pool. Very pricey for a dirty facility. With Covid going on I would think that resorts would up their game, especially at this price/level.
This is a beautiful very Traditional Maine feeling property. We were looking for a family get-away for just a few days and your website did a great job of selling the property. The grounds and buildings are well maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful. The views out to the bay are amazing. The rates are pricey per night, but we felt for an upscale resort would be worth it. What were were not informed of upon making the reservation: 1. Daily Housekeeping was not provided we were told due to the virus. No mention of this was made at check-in either. One had to call for towels or others supplies like shampoo daily. 2. The Spa and Main Evening restaurant was closed we're guessing due to the Virus. Once again this was not mentioned on the Hotel.com site. 3. There was no Information book in the room or at the front desk to tell us about the basic amenities, local restaurants or local attractions. We had to research on our own. 4. Upon check out, we were charged an additional $53.00 " Resort Fee" which I was told for daily use of the amenities. For the daily rate of $530.00 a night, this should have been included or at least mentioned on Hotels.com. The restaurant at the Hotel is quite good, but breakfast is not included and the menu was expensive. ( Breakfast for 2 adults and 1 child was $85.00 including tip.) Overall a very good experience, but a few not welcome surprises.
Gorgeous property, sweet staff and incredible restaurant🌲
Was beautiful place that allowed pets.
The resort and surrounding area are lovely but there were a few unexpected things. We did not realize the resort charged an extra $40 per day for a resort fee. As these rooms were on the expensive side we did not expect this at checkout. Also, the service, apart from the restraurant, was terrible. We understand that certain precautions need to be taken due to COVID but we thought that the Inn's lack of service was above and beyond COVID restrictions. We were told to call the office if we needed anything. Of the five times we called them, for legitimate needs, only one time did anyone answer. We were calling during normal business hours, not at night. The one call that got answerred was when we told them our toitlet was backed-up. They said they would send maintenance. We left and when we returned to our room there was a plunger in a plastic bad sitting outside our door. So not only did we not get clean sheets, a cleaned room, clean towels the entie time we were there, and had to empty our own garbage, we had to plung the toilet. I would think they could have maintenance do this, put on gloves and a mask and fix the toilet. There should have been a reduction in prices for the complete lack of service. The front desk staff were surely and unhelpful. Made us feel like they were doing us a favor by letting us stay there. The restaurant staff, however, were very pleasant and the service was good. The food was also good. We will not be returning to this 'resort'.
