The Floridian Hotel and Suites

I left my car key at the front desk when I checked in. I went to the room, chilled for a while...then wanted to go get some dinner. Can't find the key......you think they would have called me, she knew it was my key...no I came up in a panic asking if anyone turned it in. Maids speak absolutely no english whatsoever. Room was nasty...dirty light switches and switch plates,had to clean the area for water in the little coffee maker, nasty inside. Lamp was broken. Lights didn't work didn't really want to touch the switches they were nasty. Everyone lets their doors slam. You can hear every piece of luggage and flip flop chugging down the hallway, all the kids screaming and people talking loudly, could hear the conversations in the room next to us. Hardly slept with all the noise. I will not come back here. Cater more to the spanish folks. There was also extensive prior water damage to the ceiling by the alcove and the light....probably why it didn't work but you could also smell the musty odor.

Well located hotel for the parks and just off international drive with loads of other things going on to keep everyone entertained. Hotel generally was good, however feels quite run down and in need of a makeover, breqkfast left a fair bit to be desired, mostly nutritional value. It consisted of waffles, made fresh by yourself of the wwffle irons, mini muffins, cinamon rolls or bagels. Very little fruit or other options. Didnt use the pool so cant comment on that.

The hotel is ok, little touches would make it a fantastic hotel ie, decor is very dated and musty, and the clean towels each day, were not 100% clean. These things could be improved upon, to make the hotel an attractive place to stay, as it is close to all amenities, has good facilities etc.

Good things: Location and outside look of property. Cant think of anything else. Lot of folks say value but let me try to explain Issues: 1. Breakfast quality is very mediocre. Coffee is one of the worst you can find. So don't make the mistake I made of thinking free breakfast compared to others and might be bearable. It was embarrassment honestly. Anyways this is not a show stopper 2. Overall structure inside needs really uplift. I mean this is not even about the room. Lobby is filled with water dehumidifier (okay maybe Florida) but the flooring is coming off. Elevator always goes to third and comes back down, all doors are rusted all over the hinges and they look shabby. Not inviting at all. Anyways this too maybe not a show stopper. Major issues: 1. Filthy is understatement for the carpet. Walk without shoes and you will slip as they have lot of oil, maybe sunscreen who knows. 2. Toilet seat was shaking. I didnt care to call and get it fixed. 3. Room smell was torture. 4. Closets were so horrible that I was scared to put my clothes as they may pick up the smell. Drawers needed lot of TLC. 5. Bed was okay but sheets look used and washed 1000 times. Same with towels. 6. Cockroach was another guest in my room. Should I continue anymore? 7. Bulbs missing in lamp. 8. Coffee pot was not cleaned when we tried to use first time. Look I am not here to demotivate you from trying this property. If you can bear this, you are good. Running out of space to write now! While the people were very nice, except the shuttle driver lady, who was horrible rude, the sheets had stains, the pillows and comforter had hair on them. The next day the maids re did the bed but did not change the sheets. How did we know? The SAME STAINS WERE THERE. Also, the bathroom light wouldn’t come on when you flipped the switch, they conveniently didn’t mention to us that the hallway they put us in did not have carpet (which supposedly were being replaced) and therefore they had one of those heavy duty fans running ALL NIGHT
