Hanoi is my favourite city in Vietnam. It is beautiful, walkable and friendly. Watch scam taxi drivers at stations and airports... Grab Taxis is the safest, and cheapest method of transport here, download the app at home and set up the payment option

Hanoi is amazing! Wish I could have stayed longer. Old quarter is very unique and you can spend days getting lost amongst the activity. Spent a little time in West lake area and wish I could have spent more time there.more peaceful and local

Such a different kind of place from west coast California! The Vietnamese culture is vibrant, people are wonderful and very friendly. It is safe walking in the Old Quarter. A good way to see it the first time is to take a cyclo tour.

A fascinating city. Get ready for motorcycles and smog that accompanies them. One prays for rain and willingly walks in it. Good food abounds! Access to national venues also pretty easy: only 2 hours from Ninh Binh or Ha Long Bay.

Get ready for an intense experience walking around this city but don't fear it. Street food and coffee shops everywhere. Museums and temples add interest. A rich experience overall.

Hanoi is frenetic, noisy and rather polluted, but it is overloaded with charming and restful cafes, and the old quarter where I stayed is a photographer's dream.

Hanoi is a great city with lots of charm, but the air pollution can be pretty extreme at times. It is a good idea to keep a mask on hand, just in case.

Very busy but interesting worth booking guided tour rather than tying to do it yourself. Train street and beer street great for nightlife
"An outstanding hotel. Friendly/helpful staff, excellent central location and good value given the quality of the hotel. Breakfast buffet covered all tastes with attentive service. Overall, I would highly recommend the Oriental Jade Hotel for couples and families alike."
"There are literally hundreds of hotels in Hanoi to choose from, each offering and promising ultimately the same. What sets Solaria apart from anywhere else is the level they go to to ensure your stay is comfortable, enjoyable and pleasurable. Every single member of staff went out of their way to know us, help us and recognise our needs .. often before we knew! Customer service is on a different level here and the hotel itself is gorgeous. The rooms are modern and large, the spa downstairs is a very welcome facility and offer an array of services at very reasonable prices and the rooftop bar is just heavenly! "
"The Royal palace is, while not the biggest and most extravagant hotel I've been to, definately the warmest and most helpful service we encountered in Vietnam. They helped arrange everything for us, and from start to finish, they made sure that our brief stay in Hanoi was absolutely fantastic. They helped us set up a trip to Ha Long Bay on the Opera Cruiser, which was just another wonderful experience.

"A really beautiful boutique hotel set in a convenient location in the historic old quarter. The room was not large but we received an upgrade with a balcony. What stood out about the hotel is the tasteful and beautiful Vietnamese decor and the service which is top notch. The staff could not do enough to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Highly recommend."

A beautiful hotel in the middle of the French quarter, easy walking distance to lake and cathedral.
All the staff were so accommodating and also welcoming.
Breakfast is not to be missed !! Seriously if you can’t find something to eat in the morning that’s on you. We would definitely stay again.
