Great inexpensive hotel

The Royal Tahitian was a great place to begin out vacation in Tahiti. The staff was lovely, the croissants and cafe au lait were delicious, the view from the restaurant was fantastic and it sits on a beautiful exotic black sand beach. The roosters woke me up a little early but having all the chickens running around was cute. Only downside was the pool could use an upgrade.

Loved the quiet garden like grounds and the pretty pool with waterfall. Rooms are basic but clean.

Nothing special

Just a place to stay, nothing special. staff was friendly. Water pressure in the shower was terrible , at best. Cabinets were falling apart, Wifi OK. Worlds smallest pool which was hard to find as there is no walkway to it, you need to walk through the grass

The staff was nice and efficient. The grounds were well-kept. The pool was incredibly small and part was closed off due to renovation (that may have been a hot tub). The beach was small and filthy, so we did not even walk on it. The restaurant had a very small menu and the food was so-so. It was not very expensive, but further from town and in a bad neighborhood. It felt like a hotel that would have been nice 25 years ago. I would not stay here again.

Not as advertised.

This was not as advertized and expensive. We arrived and it was dark and no one in the registration office. The staff we met did not speak english at all and it was difficult to navigate. In his defense he tried really hard and we did too. We were taken though a construction zone and to our room and left there with no instructions about food wireless or anything. There was no one at the front desk to ask. The room had tons of mosquitoes and the shower did not work. The beds were nice and the room seemed clean. Given how much we paid for this place I would say this was a very bad experience.

The pathway to get to the hotel rooms was all blocked off so we had to pull our luggage across the grass (not easy) where the lawn workers were cutting grass and blowing leaves & twigs! They looked irritated that they had to stop blowing to allow us to go by. We finally get to the room and are extremely disappointed....thank God I brought my UV sanitizer wand! Doesn’t look like they wipe down light switches, the pillow cases have stains, the tub/shower handles have rust, the sliding glass door screen barely slides on the track. Not sure they have EVER cleaned the window sill. We have a king sized bed with twin sized pillows. We realize that there is no power and call the front desk. We just needed to insert/leave the key card in the slot at the door they could’ve told us this when we checked in! We had to ask for the wifi before we left the front desk. She gave us the wifi and we logged in while at the Frontdesk, but by the time we got to our room we were no longer connected. We went back to the Frontdesk as were told that there was a different wifi for the rooms....!! We then came back to the room and used the sign in credentials for that wifi. However, right after we signed in it went out! We went back to the front desk and the second girl told us there was an issue with the wifi and it should be back up in about 90 minutes. Its fixed but it keeps going out! The roosters crowing right outside my door are a nuisance....not sure how anyone sleeps around here. No ice machine!

Good rooms, clean and airy. Overall, a pleasant place, the only criticism was that the bar closed too early.

Bar bar was closed more often than it was open we got robbed they did try to help but not very well no translation properly very poor would not recommend this place to anybody

The staff was very nice. They were all friendly, but there was a problem while we were there and the staff didn't seem to know what to do. A group of older people from Canada were at the pool with their bags and purses directly in their possession on the ground next to them or on the table next to their lounge chairs. Two young Tahitian men walked by, grabbed their bags and ran off. They lost all their cash, credit cards, and ID's. There was no response from the staff. I happened to be in the reception area when the Canadians came running in. The staff didn't seem to have any idea of what to do.
