The bathrooms need to be handy cap friendly and some of the furniture needs to be replaced it is well worn

We usually stay at their sister hotel, Hotel Giraffe, but since this was a bit last minute, it was sold out.When I called the hotel to ask for a quiet room on a high floor I spoke to a young staffer, Tary. Two days before I asked the same staffer to see if he could get me tickets to Frozen and explained specific requirements for seating due to my daughter's vision issue. He explored options and called me back immediately. The day before we were to arrive, I got a late afternoon call from Tary asking me if I'd seen the email he'd sent earlier (I missed it for some reason). I had to sign in at Ticketmaster to retrieve the tickets; timing was running out. He wanted to make sure I got them & stayed after the time he was supposed to leave to help me confirm. He also got me the quiet room on a high floor I wanted. I had not stayed at Hotel Elysee in well over 15 years, so I wasnt sure if it would be as lovely as I remember. It was. The upstairs lounge/breakfast room was unchanged (could use some updating) and pretty. The staff was incredibly obliging and patient (it was packed) serving drinks/snacks and breakfast (excellent & included in the resort fee). Every request was answered and honored immediately. Our room was a good size and the bathroom was immaculate. Surprised there was no On Demand movies, just cable. Curtains don't close (I need complete darkness to sleep), so I undid the tiebacks & clipped them together with a hanger. Perfect location at Madison & 54. Grade: A

My friend and I were there with our husbands for the NYC Marathon. We just loved the rooms and the hotel! The staff was very helpful and friendly. We could not have asked for a better experience!

Great stay. Breakfast each morning and cocktail hour at 5 both good. Staff very friendly. No dedicated concierge which was unusual. Front desk helpful
