Extended Stay America - Salt Lake City - Sandy

The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The kitchen looked OK but I wouldn't have wanted to try to cook there for several days. Front desk staff couldn't have been nicer.

The front office staff other then the one gentleman were clearly not trained in “customer service.” You kind of had the feeling like this was the only job they could find, not at all like “this is a job I really enjoy.” The one gentleman was usually here by himself running all over trying to help in anyway he could.

I would say the hotel was about a 4 out of 5. It just felt a little bit outdated I don't know about the pillows cuz I didn't use them and it was a good location and the price was decent. Clerk was very helpful.

I like the staff, very helpful and kind. The room was okay. It had a lingering cigarette smell and in the bathroom, the smell was even stronger.

The room was dirty, carpet had stuff all over it. All the drawers/doors were broken. Had to ask for a remote. Hot water in tub run constantly, making the room humid. Had to have the ac run constantly all night to keep the room cool. Girl at front desk was rude. There were bags of trash sitting outside the entrance to the lobby. I checked in late and was told it was the only room available, and the water was running and needed to be repaired. If it hadn’t been late and me, being tired from driving all day, I’d gone somewhere else. I feel like I should be refunded for this overnight stay.

We reserved 6 rooms for a family wedding. One room had water streaming into the bathtub and when I notified the front desk, I was told that they had notified a plumber, but he kept putting them off so there was nothing they could do about it. I had to insist that they switch us to a different room. Another room had to be switched due to extreme cooking smells. The hotel caters to construction workers who congregate outside the entrance doors to smoke. They were loud and cursed a lot. While this is not the hotel's fault, it was an annoyance. Due to COVID, there was no breakfast (which is still being advertised by Hotels.com) and no cleaning services during our stay. The WiFi was good and I had no trouble watching Netflix even with the free one. The full kitchen was really nice and dishes, pots & pans, and coffeemaker were available at the front desk. Even though my 94 year old aunt had a 3rd floor room, there is an elevator that works well. The location was excellent. There are a lot of restaurants and shopping within walking distance and the entrance to I-15 is nearby. Costco is also just down the block so gas refill before our trip home was easy peasy.

Nice room, Check in was easy. Wish check out time is a little later.
