This is approximately our 6th stay at Sonesta ES Suites in Colorado Springs. Above all else, the attitude and service provided by the staff is top notch. The 'suite' setup is perfect when my wife and I stay with our adult son, the foldout coach fits him fine and we love the little kitchenette for small meals and snacks. There are a few things that aren't perfect (our last room had a ceiling stain from a previous leak from the room above), but overall, it is clean and in good shape. The location is perfect and close to everything and the 'grab-and-go' breakfasts (during COVID times) and the 24-hour a day coffee was appreciated.
Amazing stay. Amazing value for the room. It had a nice open layout, very spacious and private. Having a kitchenette was ideal for us. Highly recommended.
Expectations are key. I believed we had booked a nice, new hotel room/suite that my family was going to be excited about. What we got wasn’t bad but was not at all what I was expecting. This place is kind of like an older apartment complex operating as a hotel. Again, not bad, but not really what I was expecting. The carpet was the cleanest I’ve seen on this trip, and my kids ran around for hours barefoot without it turning the bottoms of their feet brown. My 4 year old was thrilled with the play area. The pool was closed and the fire pit was heavily populated by people that probably live there. The amount of dog poop surrounding the play area is excessive. There is obviously no one enforcing the clean up or going behind guests and cleaning up and I found it hard to step anywhere without stepping on large mounds of dog poop. Gross. The dog poop bag Station was also overflowing. The room itself was fine. Again, it’s like an older apartment complex filled out with hotel furniture. It was clean. The bath tub took an excessive amount of time to drain and the toilet flushed if you held the handle down for a prolonged amount of time, so there were some plumbing issues, but it did work. We weren’t expecting 2nd floor and had a handicap requirement that made the stairs tough but do able. Same with the room itself. Lastly, the internet did not work at all. We tried on multiple devices and it was not us. The front desk was unable to assist.
This is my go-to hotel location in Colorado Springs. The rooms are spacious, quiet, and perfectly suited for my needs. The lobby staff are always friendly and courteous and I've never had a problem here in all of my visits. The fireplaces in the rooms are an added plus, although it was too warm on my last trip to need to use the fireplace. However, I'll definitely be back later in the winter to take advantage of that wonderful amenity!
This place was definitely not kept up. Cons - Peephole broken and people were knocking on our door after 10pm. - Wi-Fi didn't work. - Couch was dirty and had holes in it. I didnt feel comfortable sitting on it. - Ice maker in freezer didn't work. - Door stops were missing or broken. - Paint peeling off the walls. - Pool was full of kids all day, all stay, so not able to use it as we had hoped, esp w/CoViD. - Fridge was leveled, probably by a previous guest, by a cardboard food box. - Stairs were dirty and carpeting was ripped/frayed. There was marker on the carpet and walls. - Downstairs bedroom doors don't close because of layers of paint. When we did get them to close, 3/4" gap between them. - Upstairs bedroom closet sliding door was off track and we couldn't get it back on. The door rests on the ground and won't close. - Bathroom vent was falling out of the ceiling. Pros - Hot water a plenty - Housekeeping was excellent!!! - Nice granite countertops - Dishes, pots and pans were mostly sufficient, although the silverware seemed a hodge-podge of different styles, and there were only a few of each. - Dishwasher - yay! - Linens were clean amd bright.
Our room was was very noisy. The door to our room you could see light coming from outside. No sound insulation at all. Unit was in bad need of a refresh. Hardly any cooking or eating utensils or plates. Bare minimum of everything. Outside There was trash everywhere. Outside the check in/office was a pair of dirty underwear that sat there with the two nights that we were there. Would not recommend these rooms to anyone.
This is an old apartment complex that was converted into a hotel. We stayed in a studio that, while well-equipped and clean, had a musty odor. It’s not in the best neighborhood and we heard some gunshots in the evening.
I stayed here with my husband and 2 children paid for the loft and when i arrived they said it wasnt available. NO phone call to let me know in advance or any form of communication in that matter i was informed i could have king suite with pull out sofa or 2 seperate rooms. I chose the 2 separate rooms so my kids wouldnt jave to sleep on a pull out sofa but no definitely not what i had pictured for a Family vacation . Also the pool was slimy so i definitely would have been better off spending 20 dollars more a night at a better place
