Great stay!

Marriott Courtyards are usually pretty good, though some of them are a little worse for wear. The Marriott Rochester East/Penfield looked and felt clean and new. Everyone was very friendly from beginning to end, the rooms were comfortable, and we were able to watch the Yankees game on a comfy sofa in the lobby. What more do you need?

The only minor hiccup was being unable to connect the GoogleTV we brought with us to the hotel WiFi - the staff had never had this question before so couldn’t help - but that’s hardly a blip on the radar. It has changed, and not for the better.

I've stayed here before and am sad to say it is not the same. The lobby restaurant/bar was closed, you had to ask for housekeeping if you were staying more than a night, the elevator shook side to side, housekeeping knocking pre-checkout time (with a do not disturb sign on the door) on departure day, some of the front desk staff looked like they rolled into work in pajamas, and the general common areas were not nearly as well-kept or inviting as it had been in the past. I'll look for other options next time I am in town.
