The Marquette Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton

We stayed at the Marquette Hotel overnight for Valentines day. Parking was very convenient and only cost about $25 for the night. The front desk service was excellent and check in was fast. The room was very clean and we had a wonderful view of the Foshay tower and westside of downtown (We were on the 18th floor). Only complaints were the bed was very hard and difficult to sleep on and the service in the restaurant could have been better (We only went there for drinks but the service was slow and they gave us each others drinks).

Great location. A Friday night with very few guests due to below zero temps and COVID. Service was just “ok” - we didn’t feel like we were being welcomed so much as being used to train a new employee. Only one other guest on floor and they put them next to us! That was good for housekeeping, but not so good for a couple trying to sleep while the “neighbors” enjoyed their room well into the next morning. Stains (of some description) all over the room’s couch kept us sitting on the bed ... but still, the views of downtown MSP was fantastic! Wasn’t crazy about paying $32 for parking and another $20 for the “privilege of using the internet - but oddly, we will probably try this place again... in a year or two. Maybe.

Very nice will book again

It was not so great. I understand that we are in a unique time in history. What was disappointing for me was the quality of the room. For being a suite that we paid a lot for to enjoy for our wedding. The room was right next to the elevators and we could here everything. All the other suites were in the same location and changing rooms didn’t seem to make that better. After my second call to the front desk to help me figure out how to turn lights on we could then see the condition of the furniture and the rest of the room. It was late and we decided to try and talk to a manager the next day. We could not wait and I ended up going to the FD and was able to negotiate an upgrade for a reasonable fee. The room was better and in a different location, not next to the elevator. This room had a shower that was hard to understand why anyone would put a shower like that in any room. You had to climb up a two foot ledge and step into a whirlpool tub. The water went all over the entrance which made it that much more difficult to navigate stepping down from a slippery surface and trying to hang onto the handle of the door. I wish I could ad a picture in order for you to see what I am talking about. On top of this there was no room service available the next morning. No coffee place open either. The coffee machine in the room leaked all over the counter. I had to wait until 8 am to walk two blocks to get anything to eat. There was no microwave in the room to reheat cold coffee. Out a words

This hotel wasn’t terrible but I would definitely never go back, especially considering all the other much better options in the area.

All amenities were canceled/gone due to COVID. Be sure to ask what is available before booking.

We had a great stay at this hotel. The room was spacious, comfortable and had a great view. The staff was kind yet efficient.
