Gaviana Resort

The stay was fabulous. I got the room for my brother and his family as a gift. The whole family was blown away with the service and spectacular views of Mazatlan in his 2 bedroom suite.

The Gaviana is usually my first pick because of location my only complaint was how laid back they were with guest about social distancing and face mask requirements. The lobby and pools were a cesspool of corona virus with people coughing. The hotel seems like it did not restrict anything in regards to guest. Overall the hotel is great and the staff are the best. I was just disappointed on the lack of enforcement on face masks and social distancing during the pandemic.

It is a very nice hotel, good cleaning, the waitress very helpful, the only detail is that the guests party all night, and they do not let sleep on weekends

It was Ok for what I paid for. The resort is run down, but they do their best to keep it clean. The pool hours are limited, and they want you out at 8:00 pm. Which is early for a resort on a beach.

Unfortunately we arrived on time to find out our room was not ready and have to wait 3 and half hours. Checkin is at 3pm and we didn’t get to check in til after 6 pm. In addition on one of the nights we stayed there it rained water was coming from the AC unit and filled all the rooms with water. The water was touching the electrical cords that were just hanging there ready to electrocute someone. My husband was able to get them out of the water without touching them and cleaned up the water mess. We called up to the front desk for help and the evening manger said they would send someone over in 10 minutes no one ever showed up. So my husband and I went downstairs to ask for a mop or some towels to find out that they were limited on towels to clean up the mess. They never came up to help and they never came to clean until the next morning. They insisted on moving us into another suite to find out when we arrived at the other suite that it was in a worse condition than the one we were in. The water in that room had completely wet all the comforter in the master bedroom. It was a horrible experience we had a suite which I would consider a 2 star hotel. We have been here at this location in the past and when it was the Ramada Inn it was in so much better condition. Whoever took over this place is doing such a crappy job keeping it up. So disappointed we stayed there 4 nights and it was not cheap we paid over $800.

Terrible rooms. Bad service and generally a 1 star hotel. Do not recommend.

Location of the hotel was nice, really close to a lot of street vendors, the beach, and clubs. However in he room was the AC

This is an excellent spot on the beach. Right next to Joes Oyster which is a very popular night spot that you have free access to. It’s a perfect location and I definitely recommend. Only downfall is the basic room doesn’t have a refrigerator to keep drinks cool. Other than that it’s a thumbs up if you want a hotel on the beach.
