"Excellent, visited this hotel as in February 9th 1945 my grandfather was outside here with the the 61st Highland Anti Tank Regiment. Great history in the area and the hotel. We did have a little difficulty during dinner with language barrier mixing our main courses and part of our order was not given however we received excellent help for an English speaking waiter and the situtwas rectified."

"parking is just a 4 minute walk around the corner. my room was very nice and a decent size considering the great price. there’s a restaurant and bar right inside the “lobby” where you check in, and there’s a lot of bars and restaurants near by to walk too. i would highly recommend this place especially for the price. "I was on a cycling holiday across the Netherlands and had cycled 50km when I arrived at the property. While checking I realised that I had left my bank card in the previous town some 10 km away. The proprietress checked me in without payment and after I had a badly needed shower drove me there and back to collect their card. Really friendly and personable and a very comfy bed!"

"The hotel was out of town which was fine lovely and quiet the breakfast set up was excellent and the the whole facilities and the staff were also excellent , the bar should have stayed open abit later for guests as after 2 hectic nights out we needed a drink or a coffee to relax after the eagles nite as the city transport back to hotel at 11pm it’s a shame that was very stressful but the hotel was very nice and we all enjoyed our stay "

"This hotel is overated considerably. Interior is well maintained but the room furniture is cheap and falling apart. The exterior of the hotel has been totally neglected. In fact the whole time we were there, there was a large garbage container just outside the front entrance, full of broken furniture. Previously we had been shown a hotel that was rated considerably lower, that puts this hotel to shame."

"Hotel Papendal is a no frills contemporary yet comfortable basic stay hotel used for the Dutch Olympics team. Amazing value, but you get what you expect. Food in the bar wasn't great, but plenty of places nearby to visit instead. Would recommend for a stay when visiting the Airborne Museum ‘Hartenstein’ in Oosterbeek."
