"Cheap and easy"
By no means luxurious, but a good deal for anyone who prefers not to stay in a hostel but still wants a low- to mid-range stay in a great location. For a city like Paris, you can't expect much more without paying an arm and a leg. Besides, level floors are SO overrated.

Basic but great location
"Appi-Hotel"
Great location close to Marais and Les Halles. Hotel is quite awful,but the rooms are clean. If you want a low budget room for a weeked, this is good. Wireless internet was good. No lift. 6 floors walking with luggages
"Cheap, cheerful, convenient!"
Me, the Missus and her son, 11, stayed her on Boxing day for 1 night. It served the purpose we booked it for, somewhere to sleep for 1 night so we could see the sights of Paris on the way home from Disneyland Paris. The room was on the 5th floor and there was no lifts. The staff were friendly, spoke good english, helpful and let us leave our bags there when we checked out so we could explore the city. "Fine, depending on what you're looking for."
The hotel is close to a red light district. The condition of the hotel is sub-standard, slanty stairs (YOU CAN ONLY UNDERSTAND IF YOU STAY)... Toilet on stair case. Room is fine. Walking distance (daytime) to the Lovre. Positives: Very close to a train station, and not far to walk to Notre Dame, the river, Conciergie etc. Negatives: In the red light district and we felt very unsafe walking around, even in the afternoon. The place was so dingy and gross that we were unhappy as soon as walked in the door. There were brown marks on the wall (no idea what?!), holes in […] the doona covers, a broken chair, rips in the sheets, stains on the awful floor mats they have nailed into the wall as 'bedheads'. The bathroom is TINY - if you are on the loo, you are touching the sink and can barely close the door. If you are in the rooms with shared bathrooms you are up and down the steps, and those facilities looked tiny also. My bed was slanted - I literally woke up with pins and needles down the left side of my body on the first night, before realising I had to sleep diagonally to avoid them. My husbands bed was the loudest bed I have heard when he moved around! There are about 6 floors to the hotel, so I certainly would not recommed it for older people, and the steps are all uneven and crooked, covered in stained carpet. The receptionist when we arrived was ok, but the one when we left was awful!! I asked her a very simple question, to which I had to explain about 3 times, with the response of "what is your question" in an extremely rude tone. So unimpressed. "Well situated, normal confort"
Well, it's very well situated, is 10 minutes walking from Hôtel de Ville, Pompidou center and Sorbone. Got the subway 3 min walking and it was very quiet. For Paris, this low cost hotel's best draw is its location, near everything and convenient to stores and the metro, which makes a huge difference to a tourist like myself. "Basic, but good value for money"
In an old building with steep narrow staircase (no lift) that has a certain charm about it. Rooms reasonable size. Clean. Cheap and basic hotel in convenient location.
very central , cheap , absolutely no frills. 86 steps up winding staircase to room. definitely get a room with shower/wc. Very conveniently located . A bit noisy through the night. Pay up front. on arrival. Very reasonable for Paris cenral- not luxury by any stretch of the imagination.

J'ai été agréablement surprise de la propreté de cette hôtel. Je m'étais dis avec un prix comme cela ? Mais ok pas d'ascenseur, mais bien dit dans l'annonce. "Das Hotel Appi liegt sehr nah am Gare du Nord"
Das Hotel liegt sehr nah am Gare du Nord und man erreicht alle wichitgen Sehenswürdigkeiten sehr schnell. Die Metro 4 fährt vom Gare du Nord direkt zu der nächstegelegenen Station. Das Hotel und die Einrichtung waren sehr schlicht, aber für eine Wochenende ist es ok. Für einen längeren Aufenthalt ist es nicht zu empfehlen, da es nachts etwas lauter […] ist. Das Hotelpersonal war sehr nett uns spricht auch ein wenig englisch. Für Kinder ist es nicht empfehlenswert, da auf der Straße viele Erotikkinos und Striplokale sind. Gelegentlich findet man auch ein paar leicht bekleidetet Damen auf der Straße. Aber im großen und ganzen, solange man nicht den Familienurlaub dort verbringen will, ist es völlig in Ordnung. la douche est tres petite et sal, les toilettes sont hors la chambre ainsi que la douche, le lit n'est pas confortable, Et il y a enormement de bruit la nuit. A deconseiller.

Hotelli sijaitsi erittäin hyvässä paikassa, jopa ruokakauppa ja kahvilat olivat vain kulman takana. Hotelli ei kuitenkaan vastaan mitenkään pohjoismaalaisten standardeja hotellista. Suihkuverho oli homeinen ja suihku erittäin pieni. Lattiat olivat vanhat ja ränsistyneet, eikä fööniä taikka telvisiota ollut ollenkaan. Une nuit passé dans une petite chambre avec lavabo, sans TV. Le lit de 90cm était propre et confortable. Bonne insonorisation vis à vis de l'extérieur. Les douches et WC sont situés aux étages intermédiaires. Les sanitaires sont très exigus, il ne faut pas être de forte corpulence. Appi hotel ligger på Danmarks istedgade/pusherstreet. Dog skal man den modsatte vej af alle de upåklædte kvinder, når man skal henad mod byen på gåben. Der er både åbne barer og kiosker inden for 2 minutters gang. Selve hotellet har gode senge. Badene er ulækre men toilettet er fint (det er i et lille rum). Da jeg kom til gadedøren, kunne jeg ikke se det var døren til et hotel, men værelserne er pæne og meget rene. Bad og toilet er meget småt, men fungere fint. Et godt lille billigt hotel. Morgenmad kan man ikke få, men der er mange små cafeer med dejlig morgenmad tæt på hotellet.

Hotellissa parasta oli sijainti. Kävelymatkan päässä vaikka mitä nähtävyyksiä ja mukavia puoteja sekä ravintoloita. Metro nurkan takana. Hotelli itse oli melko vaatimaton, mutta kohtuu siisti. Stock gelegen (ohne Fahrstuhl) schlecht für viel Gepäck - […] Treppe war sehr schlecht - nichts für ältere Menschen - teilweise alte Möbelstücke - Empfangsdame nicht immer bereitwillig für Auskünfte, hatte am PC zu tun - Tür unten öffnet sehr schlecht - Dusche war defekt - Gegend erinnert etwas an den Kiez Fazit: Man kann es da gut aushalten, wenn man nicht den ganzen Tag auf dem Zimmer bleiben muss. Hotelet holder en veldig enkel standard, men det har det du trenger; seng, dusj og do. Personalet var hyggelige og rommet var tilfredstillende rengjort. Beliggenheten er veldig bra, bortsett fra at gaten hvor det ligger inneholder en del små-"butikker" hvor en kan få tilfredstilt diverse behov... "mauvais endroit"
Heuresement que j'etais dans cet hotel qu'une seule nuit. Bien situe dans un quartier dynamique, mais le service est n'importe quoi. La chambre est sale et sens mauvais partout. Les toilettes et les douches sont trop petites. Finalement je reviens jamais, et a décoseiller pour tout le monde.

petit hotel ancien et propre. Attention 6 étages; ma chambre était propre et finalement le quartier était calme la nuit, j'ai pu dormir fenêtre ouverte. C'est pas le grand luxe mais le rapport qualité prix est très bon. On se trouve au centre de la vie parisienne.
