What an absolutely exquisite hotel and truly wonderful location. Situated a few minutes drive from the sea-front at Narbonne we were overjoyed to have discovere dthis hotel and the fact that it is part of a working vineyard - free wine tasting included in the room price was superb! The Chateau looked awesome as we drove up and the whole building and […] surrounding area were beautifully maintained; the central square/courtyard typical of the French Chateau and the bar/restaurant and swimming pool were both extremely well appointed. The room we booked, a superior double, was a bit small and basic; but this didn't over concern us as we were only stopping over for one night - would have caused problems if it was a long term stay. The problems started, however, with the restaurant and the staff therein! As the annual jazz festival hosted by the Chateau had finished the day before the restaurant did not offer their usual al a carte menu, which was not advertised to the residents - instead we were offered the set menu and no apoloigies! The service at the restaurant was extremely slow and very rude and took the shine off the whole experience of staying there. I would like to think this was a one-off, but this is the only experience and impression we have so I am afraid they are damned by it. Overall the whole experience was excellent and we will certainly stay there again given the opportunity - however forewarned is forearmed and we will definitely arrange to eat elsewhere!
