"L'Orchid"
Luckily my daughter new exactly where the B&B was located, being close to the junior college and just off the highway. Really nice place. Bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was great and had some good conversation with the guests and with the owner. She happens to be German/French and I just got back from living in Germany and we ended up speaking […] in French. The room was a little tight but I knew this from the other reviews. The Orchid Inn is a gem in the Santa Barbara area. I can't wait to return. Easy walking distance to the downtown area and the marina.

"Lovely Stay"
We stayed for 5 days. Lovely bed & breakfast right off one of the main streets in a fairly quiet neighborhood. We stayed in the Carriage House - very quiet, although can hear other room through the bathroom wall, so don't talk too loud while in there. Friendly manager and service. Nice breakfasts with always 2 choices. Nice wine and cheese hour in afternoon. […] Very attractive property with lots of flowers and trees. 1.2 mile walk to State Street for shopping and food. Beach and harbor about 1/2 mile walk. Santa Barbara City College about 1 block away and worth exploring. On cliffs overlooking beach. Other than convenient stores on nearby corner though, no other food establishments nearby, so eat while on State Street. Nearest fast food 1.5 miles away, on other side of city college. "Charming"
I took my daughter to see Santa Barbara City College and wanted a special experience for us. The Orchid is half a block from SBCC and was a wonderful place to stay. "All i can say is WOW"
What a great birthday i had! Room #7 was absolutely exquisite. Francine took her time with me on the phone while i was trying to make up my mind (not easy) which room i wanted and even brought me a lit candle at Breakfast in honor of my birthday. We will definately be returning. We even felt like they were family at the end of the trip!

What a wonderful Inn. Beautiful rooms, clean, the softest sheets in the world, fantastic staff and if you are worried about the awkwardness of bed and breakfast style don't be. They are very attentive but without being intrusive. Would absolutely go back.

"Wish I'd stayed longer!"
Absolutely delightful boutique hotel. Very warm welcome to a really nicely presented inn with a homely feel. We had room 4 which was very comfortable, in-fact my girlfriend and I agreed that it was the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in (so much so we're now have to buy a new bed at home!). I've seen others mention that the single glazed window […] and location on a slightly busy road makes the place a bit noisy. We actually slept with the window open and it wasn't a problem for us but it might be an issue if you are a very light sleeper. Breakfast was very nice and made even better by the intimate setting which encouraged conversation with other guests. It's a short walk to the marina and beach and a slightly longer walk to the main shopping street. That said we walked there and back and it was fine. "Really nice place"
Really nice bed and breakfast. Recommend getting rooms that are not in the main house if you want privacy. I arrived on a sunday and was upgrade to room #6 which was over the garage and really nice. THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST EXPERIENCE I HAD IN A HOTEL. THE PLACE IS BEAUTIFUL. CLEAN, THE ROOM WAS GREAT, THE BED WAS VERY CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE AND THE BREAKFAST WAS DELICIOUS. THE MANAGER OF THE HOTEL, A YOUNG MAN WAS VERY COOPERATIVE HELPED WITH DIRECTIONS AND ALL AND ALL I HAD A GREAT EXPERIENCE. LOVED IT.
