"Blue River Resort and awesome hot springs"
Certainly one of the most isolated places we've been to, and b/c it's so intimate (only a handful of rooms) we were able to have one of the hot springs to ourselves one evening. Turned out to be one of the most romantic evenings we've had. The grounds are beautiful. We didn't except them to be so elaborate. It's like having your own personal gardens […] again, since hardly anyone was sharing them with us at the time. Fabulous rooms, much larger than we expected. Was a great time all around. "Blue River Hotel--beautiful gardens and rainforest"
We enjoyed a relaxing 3 days at the Blue River Resort. The hot spring pools were fun to soak in and the botanical and butterfly gardens are beautiful.

"Beautiful Grounds - needs new kitchen though!"
I want to be sure that I do this review fairly. There were many great things about this property - the grounds are amazing, the hot springs really nice, the animals were everywhere and Richie the Asst. Mgr. was wonderful about helping us to fix the things that went wrong. That said we were given wrong directions by someone on the phone at resort which […] put us 1.5 hours out of way (I did even spell out road on map to the employee). The other thing that was really bad was there was only restuarant you could go to. The food was way too expensive to be that bad. When ordering a $12 plate of nachos you recieved a few chips and a little cup full of COLD CHEESE WHIZ, a little cup of salsa and guac. When ordering well done burgers got almost raw, etc. etc. EVery time they got something wrong (every meal) the Mgr. Victor would say No Excuses and then make several excuses. He kept saying he would make it up to us but never did. In my humble opinion as a Business Owner and Cook- they just need to start all over. The menu, the chef, the mgmt. etc. all need to go. In a beautiful oasis like this when you are captive to only one restuarant it should be at least decent. If they would change this one thing then this place would be an amazing 5 star resort!!! "What a wonderful place to relax!"
Great place! Very friendly personnel. Great food in restaurant. Nice spas and nice botannical gardens. We stayed 3 nights, which was a perfect length. Downside is its remoteness if you don't have a rental car you are subject to their shuttles as shuttle companies wont pick you up here. We paid 80 USD for a transfer from Liberia and 180 USD for a transfer […] to Monteverde. On the other side, this remoteness definitely contributes to the great experience! Przeczytaj więcej

Pros:Outstanding facilities! The hot springs were amazing. work out facities and spa were top notch. Rooms/cabinas spacious, clean and new. Service at the front desk and restraunt was very good. Cons: restauraunt food way over priced and marginal. no other eating options within 30-45 minute drive. Volcano hike should be reserved for the extremely physically […] fit! Not for beginners. You need the right shoes and poncho as it will likely rain.. it is a rain forest and you will get muddy! There is a much easier hike on the other side of volcano in the national park. You can NOT do the hike on the caribbean side with out a guide and transportation to secluded entry point. No wi-fi in room as advertised. When it does work it is very slow and spotty as it comes by satellite... and cloud cover in a rain forest happens a lot obviously! Overall a beautiful place that would be good for just relaxing and romancing as there is nothing else close. "Inaccessible[ almost] Blue River Hotel"
Drove in through Upala, Brasilia and Dos Rios, Road deteriorated from bad to worse. Feared for our safety. 40 mm with 20 plus really bad!! Going out towards Liberia 22 km of almost as bad road. Resort itself has several thermal pools, basically all the same temperature, not quite hot enough. Small botanical garden with labelled trees and plants, a butterfly […] enclosure, some humming bird feeders and a captive toucan. Smoking allowed in the dining room!! "Hotel paradisiaco"
Como explica el título, hotel espectacular, bien equipado, excelentes habitaciones, situación paradisíaca. Sólo un par de comentarios: - No había internet inalámbrico tal y como se anuncia, en las habitaciones no hay ninguna señal. Nosotros en lo particular no lo echamos de menos pues este hotel a lo que invita es a la desconexión total, pero considero […] que las descripciones deben ser ajustadas a la realidad. - El hotel está situado, efectivamente, en las faldas del volcán del Rincón de la Vieja, pero no está en ningún modo cercano a las dos entradas a este parque (Pailas y Santa María). En otras palabras, no recomiendo utilizar este hotel como base para visitar el parque nacional por las entradas mencionadas, sí como estancia de fin de semana o si se desea conocer el parque con las excursiones que el propio hotel proporciona.
