"Hotel 17 w Nowym Jorku - miła lokalizacja"Komentarz: Piotr - "Polska", dnia lis 6, 2011

"Fine."
The room was fine, comfortable and clean. The lack of a front desk concierge was annoying, only a security guard because it was the weekend. I would probably stay here again but only because it's so close to the Javits center, where i needed to be.
"bad."
really bad stay. really bad rooms. dirty and noisy.

"Noisy construction work but clean and comfotable"
Our room was one of the newly renovated rooms and was a good standard clean and comfortable. Our friends who stayed at the same time has an older room which needed updating, although there where no inherent problems with it. There is ongoing construction work opposite the hotel, which carries on through the night, so if you have a room at the front […] you might find it a bit noisy at night. The hotel is very close the time square and port authority station which makes getting around easy. I would recommend this hotel if you are happy to put up with some noise ,as the location is very central. Przeczytaj więcej

The room was not as described. We were told by Hotels.com that there was a pull-out couch in addition to the queen bed - there was no couch! Note that there is a construction site across the street as of April 2012 which mans 24 shifts. We got no sleep with jackhammers going just feet from our windows all night long.
"You get what you pay for..."
Check-in was scary - run-down "lobby" with Security Guard taking care of the check-in process; being sent to a cluttered back-office to pay for the $50 plus Tax "Cleaning" or "Service" Fee. Room was surprisingly spacious (given the low rate and the location in Midtown Manhattan). Happy to report no bug or roach sightings, probably due to the Ultrasound […] Anti-Bug Device in the wall outlet. No Wireless Internet in the room even though it was advertised. Wired Internet didn't work either until I reset the modem (took me until my last day to figure that one out...). Over all, know what to expect for the amount you pay for a central location in Manhattan. And of course it is noisy, people: it's NY! I'd recommend it for the budget-conscious travellers; I booked my next stay at the Yotel down the street to be on the safe side though. Przeczytaj więcej
Hotel is in very poor condition, It is noisy that I can not go to sleep for the whole night. Internet is not working, I have to go the lobby to check my email. It is a nightmare to stay in this hotel. Then I had to change my room on the 2nd night, it is a little better, but still very noisy. No one clean your room during your stay. "Terrible Experience in Metro Apartments"
The upside is that it is quite close to Times Square, actually a couple of blocks away. However, that's the only good thing of the place. For starters there is no lobby, or receptionist. There is just one, very amiable person that serves as guard, front desk and housekeeper. The check in took more than an hour and even though I arrived well after the […] check in time began, my room wasn't ready. The room is very plain, it does offer internet access, but all night you hear the rumbling noises from the traffic outside, since is right in the corner of a very busy intersection. Also, you must request that they clean the room, for it's not an automatic process as in every hotel. If you don't request it, they won't clean the room, nor change the linens or even replentish the toiletries In sum, the worst hotel I've ever been. I can almost bet that any short stay hotel anywhere in the world (aka Love hotels) offer a far better service than this one. Przeczytaj więcej
"Great place"
We were very happy to stay in Metro Apartment. It was a great discovery for us. It was very clean, very modern , great location , had a kitchen , very nice service. We felt like home. We love this neighbourhood , it is so many great small places to eat from all of the world and it is very reasonable and it is not a chain. We love to have a lunch and […] dinner on 9th or 10th streets. But the very best place for breakfast it is La Bergamote on 52nd street, if you like french bakery it is out of this world. "Metro Apartments"
Needed a good cheap hotel which was near to the Jacob Javits center. This place proved ideal as it was within 8 - 10 mins walking. I ate breakfast every day at the Thaetre Row cafe around the corner. Good cheapish food all day long. Room has all you need incl fridge, cook top and microwave. A bit cold at nights and no sign of heating. Fairly clean around […] the edges but not spotless, could do better. Bed was spot on and very clean and comfy. Staff were very pleasant and full of NY humor! Przeczytaj więcej

"Great staff and location"
Very friendly staff. We forgot our babys sweater, that my mother had knitted for her. The staff found it and mailed it to us. Great service! Room was newly renovated and very nice. However the shower was not finished and the water ran directly onto the floor, creating a large pool of water on the floor. Very central location, but the neigbourhood is […] by no means fancy, and traffic is heavy. But Times Square and everything else is so close that it doesnt really mattter. Beware that the free internet is only cable. Wireless internet (only in the lobby) was too weak for our ipad. I recommend the Metro Apartments highly. Przeczytaj więcej
"metropole hotel"
tho adequate my studio apt. was only an average hotel room with a kitchen galley no sofa or sitting area, and the traffic noise from trucks goes on 24 hours.on the plus side you are just blocks from times square and theaters.
"Metro Apartments Sucks¡"
Poor location. There are some construction buildings in front of the apartments and the noise is terrible. The lifts are super dusty and lack of manteinance. Never come back again. My worst experience in NYC.
"Very comfortable and clean"
This hotel was more then i expected it was extremely comfortable and i the location is one block away from 42 street port authority so it was very convenient i would defiantly book this hotel again
"No Tempurpedic Mattress!! (or balcony)"
If you are booking this room just to sleep on the advertised Tempurpedic mattresses, don't waste your time. Also, there are no balconies either. I have no idea who wrote these room descriptions. The first room I was given was not recently renovated, despite claims that the entire hotel has completed their recent renovation push. Also, there was no […] Tempurpedic mattress. I tried to call...and tried...and tried...but nobody answered the phone. Don't bother leaving a message as instructed, nobody will ever return your call. Instead, call every five minutes and in roughly 90 minutes, someone will answer the phone. The lady who answers is actually very nice and after I told her all I wanted was a room with a Tempurpedic mattress, she switched my room...to a much, much nicer room that WAS recently renovated. Modern bath, new appliances, LCD TV with an actual HDMI cable so I didn't have to watch at 420p. But still no Tempurpedic mattress!! I tried to call back but of course, no answer. Rather than try for another hour, I settled in and went to dinner. So to recap, no Tempurpedic mattresses, no balconies, possibility of getting an unrenovated room. Oh! And the outlets...some of them were installed in such a manner where you can't plug anything into them. So those lamps on the nightstands, while lovely, we're utterly useless. It's a busy area with a lot of traffic all night long, being by the bus terminal and all, and the flimsy windows let a lot of that noise through. But luckily it was winter when I was there and the noise was drowned out by the heating unit which I believe was constructed from a re-purposed jet engine. Przeczytaj więcej

"All flaws you should know"
Hotel is cheap, but make sure they put you in the newly renovated floors. If you read some of the other reviews, there have been reports of bed bugs and roaches. I stayed in the new part, so it was nicer. Construction noises until 10pm at night. Shower water stays hot for about 10 minutes and then gets very lukewarm to cold. But Ms. Green (the front door officer) then look for a temporary room so my kids can sleep and wash our face while they are preparing our 2 bed room suite (check-in time […] is 2PM). "Metro Apartments New York"
Metro Apartments is a great place for a couple or small family looking for budget accommodation with cooking facilities. The surrounding streets are busy, noisy and ugly, but the payoff is being a minute from the Port Authority Bus Terminal / subway and a short walk from Times Square and Midtown Manhattan.
"decent place for the place"
everything is decent especially for the price that we paid. Just the neighborhood is not quite nice for visiting, cause it doesn't show the real new york.
"Works great if traveling with children."
We stayed in the two rooms apart. The rooms' space was used efficiently and the renovation was tasteful. The kitchen was equipped with everything to make our stay easy and comfortable, particularly when traveling with three children (15, 14, 10). The oveall cleanliness of the apart were superb and so were the beds!! What needs serious help is the lobby […] and the elevators. I am hopeful that once the renovation is completed, these issues will be taken care of. One complain though: the apart was not ready at check in time.... :( Przeczytaj więcej

"cheap and convenient"
Being right behind the port authority bus terminal is not for those who sleep light, or mind noise. The location is very convenient, the room was ok, and WAS clean. And it's cheap. "Ups and Downs of Metro Apps"
This was our fourth stay in NY this year. Although the hotel had some positive aspects, I would not go back unless every other options failed. The hotel is clearly being fixed up therefore there may be improvements in the coming months. Parts of the hotel are very modern and clean (lobby, which we could not use the front door to, and our room); parts […] of the hotel despretly needed fixing up (elevators and office). The only real staff members I met were the doormen (present 24h). They were VERY nice and helpful. They seemed to be the ONLY staff members. No cleaning is done to a room during a visitors' stay. I had one of the renovated hotel rooms; it was new and clean. We requested extra bedding and were supplied with an air bed (camping style). Needless to say we slept on the floor for the bed deflated. I stayed at the hotel with my three very young children (1-3-5) and found it was not at all child friendly. I wouldn't even say it was safe. The door to the balcony locked and unlocked by simply lifting the knob. There was no chain to the front door. The kitchenette table and the coffee table each had a glass top that would slide off ever so easily. Just putting down a cup would make the glass top slide a few inches. Nothing was placed on the table so the glass top would adhear to it. I couldn't let the kids eat at the table by themselves for the glass would have fallen to the floor and shattered. Even eating at the table by myself I had to be careful not to push on the glass. The modern washroom had no bathtub, so it was difficult to bathe the kids. I have always traveled with my kids found a hotel in NY that IS child friendly. Unfortunately, Metro Apps is not. The hotel is right by the Lincoln tunnel and a firestation. Although all of Manhattan is noisy, this area is particularly loud. Walking to and fro the hotel is a bit difficult due to the Lincoln tunnel. On the other hand, Time Square and other areas are nearby and can be reached on foot. Przeczytaj więcej

"Recent Stay at Metro Apartments!!!!"
My recent stay was fairly ok! The room was nice, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was equipped with all the essentials, however, you do have to buy your own coffee filters, the fridge did not get as cold as it should, and the freezer is thin enough for an ice cube tray & a couple compact frozen dinners! I was very dissatisfied with the fact […] that I had to pay to have my room cleaned and sheets changed on a daily basis, which was $28.00 a day. On top of that, I had to ask more than once for towels and washclothes to accomodate everyone in my party, and still didn't get enough washclothes! I had to spend my first night sharing a rag with my infant daughter! The second night, the cleaning lady was nice enough to ensure I had enough towels and washclothes, and unlike the other cleaning ladies who proclaimed they cleaned my room upon arrival, this one did actually clean my room and dusted it very nicely, as she should since I had to pay for it! In addition, the elevator and hallway to my room reeked of old egg salad and fart the entire weekend, so I hope someone in the Metro staff will read this and ensure their hallways will no longer have a peutrid, lingering smell! Overall, the room itself was set up as shown in the pictures, and my stay was ok! Przeczytaj więcej

"Metro Apts- the good and the bad"
The location was great- it was walking distance to the Javits Center, which is what I needed. However, when I arrived to check in around 2 in the afternoon, the main lobby was closed and the untidy mail room was being used as the check in desk. The attendant was very unprofessional. I didn't have a very good first impression of the place. Then, she […] proceeded to tell me that there was an additional $60 cleaning and service fee, which I was unaware of. I asked to speak to a manager, and was told to go down the hall to the office. When I walked into the office, I was not greeted nicely. I explained that I was unaware of the additional $60 fee. They told me that I should have read the fine print on Hotels.com. There was not any other indication of additional fees that I read when researching Metro Apts, on my confirmation or during the registration process online. They eventually said they would just charge me $25 instead of $60 but I persisted and they waived the fee altogether. Had I known ahead of time, this would not have been an issue but I didn't like the surprise fee. My room was large and had all of the necessary elements- I like that they provide free WIFI, and it even had a small balcony and kitchen. I liked the fact that there was a 24 hour doorman. However, the room had a horrible odor that I could not identify. When I went to take a shower, there was no hot water. I called downstairs and within 15 minutes a repair man can into my room and resolved the issue. Overall, Metro Apts served its purpose of being convenient to the convention center however the room and service was poor when comparing it to other hotels in the same area that I've stayed at previously. I would only consider this place again if all other options are unavailable. Przeczytaj więcej
"Great location and top quality"
I had the pleasure of staying at the Metro Apartments on 440W 41st Street, New York and I must say that the hotel pleased me to a great extend. When I arrived the room was spotless and the bed beyond comfortable. The location could not be better and was only 2 blocks from Time Square which gave me the possibility to walk everywhere. You def. get your […] money's worth. Do keep in mind that there is no sign what so ever on the building (I spent a while looking for it) and one thing I have to remind future guests: when you arrive you have to pay a cleaning fee of approx. 60$ which is nnot included in the price you pay while booking - and you need to pay as soon as you arrive and they only clean your room once (before you come) and then its up to you to clean it. All in all I was very satisfied with my stay - most due to the location but also the comfort of the bed ;) Oh!! one last thing... A LOT of noise outside the hotel - so if you want a quiet place ... dont choose this ;) because it is going on 24/7 Przeczytaj więcej

"Metro Hotel - Not really a hotel"
This place is not too far from Times Square but very difficult to walk there due to construction and is certainly out of the buzz of what you think of as Times Square. This looks like they are just trying to rent the place out by the night until they can lease the small studio apartments out by the month. Yes they do have coffee makers and such but […] you will have to go out and buy coffee and filters. There were no ice trays in the refrigerator and staff said there should be but no offer to get us any so we had to go buy ice trays and there is no ice machine on the property. There is no maid service but you are required to pay over $50.00 on check out to clean your room for the next sucker that books this place. The only thing that was nice was that it was much larger than most New York hotel rooms but that is not saying that it was big. The seating area is only two strait back chairs next to a small glass table. The rooms are advertised to have a balcony but only a few do. There was a major construction site across the street which make it very noisy that looked like it was just beginning while I was there in October of 2011 so certainly would not stay there anytime soon. By the way I travel quite often and this is the first time I have ever taken the time to write a negative review. Przeczytaj więcej

"Not exactly as advertised."
Room descriptions says "Air Conditioning, Tempurpedic Beds" which there was no air conditioning and my mattress was anything but a TempurPedic. The Metro Apartments is located right next to a Covenant House (homeless teen runaway shelter) which doesn't exactly attract the right crowd (especially late at night). Another downer is it is also right next […] to the Lincoln Tunnel entrance. I discovered between 1 and 2 am is when 18 wheeler trucks come into Manhattan for most of their deliveries. "Room to improve"
If you are looking for a bargain and are willing to sacrifice typical hotel service (the experience is more like staying in your 1st apartment) and be in a less desirable neighborhood then this place might be for you. I stayed at the property 5 nights and the 1st night was not a good experience but the staff did work with me to improve my stay. The […] location is very loud with traffic noise but it was quite warm during my stay and the noise of the air conditioning unit drown out the traffic noise - ear plugs are a must. The first room I was in on a lower floor was completely inadequate - old furniture, closet door broken, drapes that didn't fit the windows, etc... I was going to cancel my stay after the 1st night but the staff was helpful and showed me other rooms to choose from. The new room was a big improvement. I appreciate the value price of this property but there are a few things they could do make it feel comfortable and safe. 1. Put a doorman at the main entrance and someone at the front desk. They lock this door at night and it makes the property feel unsafe. 2. Improve the shower curtains - in both rooms the curtains are too long and take up too much room in the shower with you. NOTE: the towels and sheets were of an adequate quality and this was a nice touch. 3. Include instructions for the operation of the TV - I figured it out but it took me some time. 4. Change the drapes so they don't interfere with the air conditioner and also consider blinds to help with the noise and the black out the light. All-in-all the room worked for me and was incredibly inexpensive but anyone staying here will want to realize this is not a regular hotel experience. Przeczytaj więcej

"Metro Apartments NYC - right for the price"
Overall a great experience but you need to be OK with camping – it’s a basic place. I say this because it's a studio apartment with cooking facilities. I needed a place to stay for a few days of business in NYC. Nobody was coming to see or meet me there so this was fine. I was swamped with meetings from morning until late at night and needed the basics. They're […] undergoing a refurbishment so there's no real lobby and I don't believe there will ever be a "lobby bar" or that type of atmosphere - if you want coffee go up to your room and make it ;-) There's no room service at all and if you care about what the bathroom looks like you will not like this place. As an example, the tub had some bad stains but I had been camping the previous weekend so I just "went with it." However, the staff was great as well as the people staying there - I get the feeling most tenants stay for a few months. It's also very near the bus station if that matters to you - easy walk. Obviously, the most important part is the price and it's off the charts on that metric. The AC also worked great. I would stay there again as it is connects with my fiscal responsibility gene - especially when everything else is so expensive. If you're accustomed to at least some amenities, you should probably stay away. If you're self employed without VC money and need to attend meetings in NYC, this is the place. Przeczytaj więcej

"Good enough for what it is"
I rented a room for two nights so that I could take the Bar Exam. So all I needed was a place to sleep at night. That's pretty much all I got. And for that use, Metro Apartments works fine.
