Hotel Teatro - Porto

Well design and good renovated hotel at great location. The hotel restaurant provides good French cuisine. The buffet breakfast is great with sparkling wine offer.

The hotel is really good, excellent for a 4 star establishment, only caveat: a lot of noises from tons of people hanging and partying outside a place really close to the hotel... If your sleep is light, it could be a problem sometimes!

I could not sleep due to load music concert next door. I do not recommend this hotel when concert/band plays next door. Load till 4am

Nice hotel but they really need to work on there gym!! I would say that it was a not existing gym and gym is really importnat to have in good hotels!

The hotel is located in the heart of the historical center and has a very interesting design. I would recomend it, but not without saying that Porto is not well conservated and a little bit poor in relation to Lisbon. To a tourist on vacation I would recomend a one day stay in Porto or simply to go directly to the Douro Valley.

i guess like most design hotels, beautiful to look at, but not very practical to use. Bathroom as great as it look was just disaster. The shower door leaked so i managed to flood the floor in room. If u want to use electric shawer, only plug is inside the draw and just not enough light for shawing generally. apart of that, great place to hang out, great […] staff btw... not many people know, that the hotel was previously theatre, but it burned down and many people died there. Loved this wacky hotel decor. Superb restaurant although a bit expensive. handy for all areas. 5 min walk from excellent Metro. Porto is great 3 nights not enough.

My stay at Hotel Teatro was one I would definitely recommend to others. Very helpful staff, excellent food and a very central location. Was very close to a train station which allowed us to go freely to Espinho beach which was only 20mins away. Loved the decor within the hotel, very innovative. Lovely place to go with a partner. 10/10

Enjoyed my stay here at this hotel. Only a 5 minute walk from the train station in Porto! Very helpful and friendly staff, (especially Jonathan, the doorman). Great recommendations for dinner and ways to get to the main river area from the hotel. About a 20/25 minute leisurely walk down to the river. Room was comfortable. Only one slight issue was […] using the converters in the room. Had to "pinch" the converter I had so that the connection would work and charge my camera battery. Great location for shopping. Took inexpensive cabs to the river and near by sites. The hotel has a "theatre" theme and lighting to go with it. Our room was on the small side but a 5/5 on all other factors.

After staying here one time, I'm hooked. I will now stay here on my annual trips to Porto.

We absolutely loved this hotel. The staff were so friendly and most helpful with advice on getting around the city from where to eat, to setting up a car rental for us. The hotel location was geat, in walking distance to shopping and restaurants. The rooms were very unique, modern and comfortable. Great for couples. Hotel was clean, staff friendly and helpful, and the location is downtown, in the old city center and close to the metro that runs to both airport and the university. Very nice hotel overall, and the breakfast buffet was great too. Will definitely stay there again if I am in Porto again.

Hotel is lovely - very unusual decor and a bit dark but I think this is clear from the photographs. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable, though would not be keen on the glass door for the toilet! The restaurant was fantastic - would highly recommend it. We had the tasting menu with wine - very reasonably priced especially considering the quality […] of both food and wine, and the nicest meal we had in a long time anywhere!! The fig lava cake with goat's cheese ice-cream, which sounds mad, was amazing! Location is excellent - can walk everywhere and very convenient to the tour buses etc if you wish to use them. Close to bridge, waterfront restaurants, port lodges across the river. Overall a gorgeous city, and a lovely hotel. I would not hesitate to return, and I will recommend to friends. Bar area etc also lovely, and the breakfast was excellent - continental buffet and the food was really fresh and there was a good variety. The welcome drink on arrival is a nice touch also!! Porto is fantastic, if you like to see 19/20 century architecture in situ. Most of these buildings have been removed or bombed in other cities in europe. The Hotel is very good, but because of its theme extremely dark. Staff were excellent. Restaurant very cold so we only had breakfast there, this is a pity as the menu looked very interesting.

My husband, and myself along with another couple stayed in the Teatro for a long weekend in October 2010. The hotel was spectacular - I'm a dancer and loved the theatrical feel of the hotel - spotlights and cans to light the bar and corridors, instead on bog standard lights, bespoke carpets to line the floors, costumes on display in glass cabinets - […] all very, very different. The lighting gave the hotel an atmposphere - a little on the dark side to be honest, which we loved, but others might not! The room was great. Big bouncy bed with crisp linen and a choice of fluffy pillows! Clean fluffy towels were provided and changed daily. The room was strange in that the toilet, though seperated by a glass partition from the room, was not seperate from it - meaning that you could hear each other on the loo - might be a bit embarrasing for those who are holidaying together for the first time!! - don't let that put you off though - it'd be a shame not to experience the hotel as it is so unique. All the staff were fantastic, polite and couldn't do enough. The breakfast was yummy (continental) and we actually ate in the restaurant on the Sunday evening and had a top notch meal!! What we loved about the whole experience of Porto was how friendly the people were and how cheap the prices were - even in the hotel we didi't get ripped off for the drinks. Whilst I agree with previous reviewers that this hotel is quite dark, I think it is in keeping with the very cool decor of the hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and readily available to help. It's in a handy location with a couple of good restaurants in the area. It's only a 10-minute walk downhill to the Ribeira area with some lovely sightseeing […] along the way. The only downside I found at the hotel was that housekeeping was really late so there was a couple of days where I came back and had to ask them to clean my room while I sat in the bar (not a hardship!). Extremely friendly, efficient and courteous staff. Very good location & convenient parking. Room very clean and more than adequate. Did not use restaurant or bar. "Theatrical" motif interesting, but overall the hotel was too dark, especially the halls. Overall we were very satisfied and would return as well as recommend it to others.

Hotelet ligger meget centralt til alt. Personalet meget venlig og i mødekommen. Det eneste kritik, der skulle være morgenmad fra kl. 7.00 men den var normalt først klar 7.30, så man sad tit og ventet på at det kom ind.

Muy bien situado y cómodo. La única incomodidad que reseñaría es que es demasiado oscuro y en el cuarto de baño haría falta mejor iluminación.

Een prachtig,sfeervol hotel in het hart van de stad.De sfeer van het vroegere theater is goed bewaard door onder andere de theatercostuums in de hal. De kamers zijn comfortabel, groot. en rustig. Lezen in bed is echter moeilijk doordat bij de verlichting meer op design dan op praktisch gebruik is gelet. Het toilet achter een doorzichtige glazen wand […] geeft erg weinig privacy. De badkamer is prachtig en de badkuip elders in de kamer met uitizicht op een spiegel is origineel en leuk. Un hotel en situación inmejorable, en el justo centro de la ciudad y con plena accesabilidad a todo lo importante para ver. El personal muy servicial y correcto. Desayuno suficiente, aunque no muy variado. Sin embargo, en mi opinión,tiene algunas desventajas importantes: - Todo el hotel está sumido en una semipenumbra que agobia: colores marrones, […] luces indirectas y escasas... salir a la calle es poder respirar. - El baño resta intimidad, al estar cerrado por cristales que te dejan a la vista.(Te estás duchando o en el water y te están viendo desde el aseo). - Pasillos totalmente enmoquetados de negro y marrón y con paredes cubiertas de cortinas, lo que me hacía sentir insegura con respecto a incendios. O hotel é ótimo, instalações novas e modernas. O atendimento foi perfeito. A localização é ótima!

Situé dans un ancien théâtre, cet hôtel est très agréable, aussi bien de par sa décoration que par l'accueil et le service de son personnel. Egalement bien situé (près de la gare Sao Bento), les chambres sont sympathiques avec des tons or et chocolat et un agencement original (douche à l'italienne), WC avec une porte en verre transparente. S'il y avait […] un point négatif à signaler, ce serait le manque de porte entre la salle de bains et la chambre qui peut s'avérer peu glamour à certains moments pour un séjour romantique... presonnel très compétent , le restaurant est de bon niveau, mais hôtel très sombre concernant la déco et accès à la baignoire difficile! dommage!

Superhotel, lekkere zachte bedden, keuze uit 3 soorten kussens of alle drie. Lekkere regen-dousche waar ook nog eens genoeg water uitkomt. Centrale liging, veel is op loopafstand. Lekker ontbijt, alles is vers. Wifi op de kamer en ook nog eens een goed restaurant!! Kortom een aanrader

Preciosas habitaciones. Camas comodísimas, 3 tamaños diferentes de almohadas. Bañera gigantesca en una pecera. Ducha con un rociador/alcachofa gigante. Todo muy original. Desayuno muy bueno. Hotel con un estilo muy especial. No es igual al resto. Volvería a quedarme en este hotel y lo recomiendo. Hace la visita a la ciudad más especial.

hotel propre, calme, petit-déjeuner très bon. très bonne situation pour visiter Porto et pour retourner à l'aéroport en métro.

O Hotel é original , acolhedor e sente-se que todos os promenores foram pensados. Um projecto de design fantastico.

Muy bien, trato muy agradable. La primera habitación que nos dieron algo ruidosa por estar en la última planta, junto a los aparatos de climatización. Lo comentamos y nos cambiaron a una habitación más tranquila y mejor ubicada. Una sorpresa negativa fue que no todas las habitaciones tenían bañera, y había que solicitarlo previamente. No vi ese dato […] en internet, por lo que no lo solicité y nos quedamos sin bañera. Pero el Hotel muy bonito, diseño chulo pero a veces poco funcional. Por ejemplo el wc estaba separado del baño por una mampara transparente (poca privacidad); la ducha se salia, no había gancho para la toalla cerca de la ducha, las sillas del comedor poco cómodas. Iluminación agradable, algo insuficiente (como un teatro) y como comentario estético personal, la moqueta del pasillo algo fea. Sólo un ordenador para internet, aunque gratuito. Faltaba algo de variedad en platos calientes en el desayuno, aunque lo que había estaba rico. Se agradece el paraguas en el armario. Personal del hotel, estupendo. Muy agradables y atentos con todo.
