Wonderful. Short walk to center. Clean and charming rooms. Breakfast was sublime. Go!

Keep it short and to the point: great hotel and staff. Very helpful and friendly. Nice hotel. Great value for price. Say hello to 'Nino' when you go.

hotel is on the outskirts of center city, but it's a small city

I stay at a lot of hotels in Italy this trip. This one had a room spa like. Large room and large bath not easy to find in europe. woulld stay again and will tell everyone I know

We stayed here one night - the hotel is very clean and comfortable, although a bit far from the train station (it is apparently very accessible by bus, but we chose to walk and it was a bit of a hike). The breakfast is in a lovely, glass-enclosed room in the garden, with plenty of fresh fruit, pastry, cereal and yogurts.

Everything was excellent. Breakfast very complete in the garden. Highly recommended

Just returned from a touring holiday in Italy which began with a night in Bologna in this excellent hotel. Slightly difficult to find and parking was a bit of an issue, but otherwise great value for money and wonderful staff on reception. Nice to have the outside space and the breakfast room was cool, serving good buffet breakfast. Bedroom was a little […] small, which didn't matter for one night and the shower was excellent. We ate dinner at the restaurant directly opposite and had a wonderful meal with great service. The Hotel is very well placed to explore all that Bologna has to offer. -Service: staff were friendly, had excellent english & v helpful even booked us a table at a traditional restaurant when we enquired for somewhere nice to eat. -Hotel itself clean, well decorated, warm colours -Room: clean, comfy, perfect -Bathroom: great hot shower -Breakfast: alot of choice, tasty & filling but best of all it is served at the end […] of the hotels garden which makes it extra special Overall the best hotel ive stayed in but the only disadvantage is for those traveling by train as the hotel is on the south whilst the train station is on the north of the city but there is a great bus service just take no 32 or 33 bus to/fro. Easier to reach for those using a car as ring road around city centre near hotel. But i wouldnt let tbis deter anyone from staying here as its only a short walking distance from the city centre. The Hotel Porta San Mamolo was great in every way, except for the carpet in the room. It was in desperate need of shampooing. Everything else was clean, comfortable and in good repair. The outdoor courtyard and breakfast area was charming. The desk staff was friendly and professional. The hotel was tastefully decorated.

The hotel was very clean and comfortable, although a little further from the centre than we had thought- On the plus side, this meant that it was quiet at night. The room was pleasantly decorated although on the small side, and the bathroom looked like it had been recently installed. The thing that stands out is the service and helpfulness of the staff - they even sent someone to the station to book rail tickets for us when they discovered we hadn't booked our return to Florence, and made sure we got seats on what was a very busy Friday! This historic hotel has charm in every detail! From the open air breakfast room with flower print china and checkered placemats, to the little alcove that holds a sacred statue of Mary, every nook and cranny is beauty-filled! I especially loved the lemon tree, potted and pruned so that just one perfect lemon hung in view. The breakfast was the best […] I've had in Italy, the room quiet and the location could not have been better, with lovely quaint streets leading the traveler into the heart of the city. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, making reservations and phoning for taxis when we needed them. Wir (Familie mit 2 grossen Junx) waren rundum zufrieden. Das Hotel ist grösser als von aussen sichtbar, was aber nicht stört. Die Zimmer sind in unterschiedlichen Nebengebäuden untergebracht, mit nettem Innenhof. Sehr saubere Zimmer (2DZ). Sehr gutes Frühstücksbuffett. Wlan. Alles sehr liebevoll eingerichtet. Vi fik anvist et værelse, som var ret lille. Der var dobbeltsengen og 1 stol, men ellers var det i ok stand. Vi kom på et tidspunkt, hvor det var ret koldt. Vi bad om at få opvarmning på værelset, som var iskoldt og det kom der en og ordnede. Man kan ikke selv tænde og slukke for varme. Morgenmaden var fin, men der var for lidt plads til gæsterne indendørs. […] Beliggenheden er fin i forhold til de lokale seværdigheder, men ret langt fra jernbanestationen, som vi benyttede til en tur til Firenze. Du kommer att bli väldigt väl omhändertagen på hotellet. Personalen är väldigt trevlig och hjälpsam. Rummen är förhållandevis enkla, men rena, och badrummen är väldigt fräscha. Luftkonditionering är tyst och effektiv och om du har möjlighet, be att få ett rum med förnster mot den charmiga innergården. Där finns också frukostmatsalen, med en underbar […] frukostbuffe och riktigt italienskt kaffe om man så önskar. Hotellet ligger i Bolognas gamla centrum, men alldeles i utkanten av detta och det är ca 10 min promenad till Piazza Maggiore och till restauranger och uteliv. Rummet uppfyllde den förväntan som vi hade efter beskrivning på hemsidan, mycket trivsamt, mjuk o vänlig atmosfär genomgående, bra läge nära centrum. Trevlig frukostmatsal och god frukost i vacker omgivning. ett hotell vi mer än gärna rekommenderar till vänner o bekanta. En glad o serviceinriktad hotelägare- chef omger sig med likasinnad personal vilket […] framkom i all kontakt från städ till recept. Das Hotel liegt zentrumsnah in einem Wohnquartier. Es besteht aus mehreren ehemaligen Wohnhäusern, die zu einem kleinen Hotel umfunktioniert worden sind. Wir hatten ein sehr ansprechendes Zimmer mit Blick über die Dächer von Bologna. Achtung: einige Zimmer gehen direkt auf die Strasse, wo zwar nicht soviel Verkehr, aber doch ein ständiges Kommen und […] Gehen, Palavern, Handy-Telefonieren etc. herrscht. Falls andere Zimmer verfügbar sind, bemühen sich die Mitarbeitenden allenfalls eine gute Lösung zu finden.
