"The Wingate by Wydham Hotel in New Braunfels, Texa"
My initial impression of the hotel was not very impressive. The person at the front desk was not very "welcoming" when I checked in and was not even at the desk most of the time. There is a bell to ring to get service but I much prefer a person there ready to welcome me and help me if I need any assistance. No offer for assistance was given. He quickly […] read off the list of available amenities and that was about it. He also mentioned that there was a complimentary breakfast with bacon, eggs, sausage, etc. but there was no bacon which my son was particularly looking forward to the next morning. The hot breakfast foods that were available were of average quality but the pastries and muffins were stale and DEFINITELY not fresh. We had chosen this hotel largely because it had an indoor pool which we were told upon check-in that had a broken heater which would not be fixed until the next day (and of course we were checking out the next day); so the water in the pool was freezing. Another big disappointment. The room itself was nice and the beds were comfortable but could have had an extra blanket available. The fitness room was nice. The views from the windows were terrible. There was an unkept lot with junk in it; not very picturesque. The shower felt comfortable but there was some long dark hair on the wall of the shower which was neither from myself or my son. Yuck! The beds were comfortable as I said before and the hotel was quiet. When we left the next morning there was nobody at the front desk again which I also did not like as I had questions about a stay planned in the future but did not have time to wait for someone to show up to answer my concerns. I also enjoy having the paper delivered to my door so I don't have to get dressed and go down to get it as was the case at this hotel. Overall, the staff did not make us feel welcome and give us that "we are glad that you are here and want you to come back again" feeling. "Wonderful"
Hotel was wonderful, friendly staff, great rooms, and loved the indoor pool and hot tub. Great breakfast every morning! I will be staying here again.

For some odd reason all of the hotels in San Marcos were booked the weekend we needed to stay there, so we opted to stay in nearby New Braunfels. The hotel appeared relatively new and clean. The staff was friendly. We also requested to not be put in a room by an elevator and they catered to our request. The only thing worth complaining about was the […] hallway noise. "Comfortable Wingate"
The room was comfortable and clean. I loved the adjustable shower head. The first morning I went to breakfast, there were no tables to sit at --all full, so I would recommend going to breakfast early. There is a nearby Burger King should you miss breakfast, in addition to two gas stations for easy fill up. The only negative i would have to say is that […] there is a donkey next door that brays at 2:00 am, as well as a distant train that I was not accustomed to hearing late at night. I always bring earplugs to sleep with, so not a big issue. The street this hotel is on is a busy two way street; found it difficult to exit the hotel at certain times of day. The room was very nice and decorated lovely. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. Breakfast had a great variety we were able to satisfy our entire family. The view was of a junk yard so you didn't want to leave the windows open.

"Wyndham- close to canyon lake and excellent hotel"
The employees were so accommodating and also they were very friendly. The price of the room was reasonable; the breakfast was enjoyable. Also I thought the décor in the rooms was pleasing to the eye. Thanks, Christine

I am business traveler. Have extended my stay from 4 days to 11 days. Hotel is 2 yrs old but looks like 6months well kept and clean. Staff bends over Backwards to assist you. I will be staying another 10days + as I am relocating to the area. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here and you Shouldn't Either

Overall it was a great on-the-way hotel. Well maintained, staff were friendly, and my daughter loved the pool. I had read someone else's review when I booked about the view and the neighbors, but didn't pay it too much mind. If you are a light sleeper, the two donkey's that live adjacent to the hotel property can be heard from your room on that side […] of the hotel. "Wonderful week at Wingate"
The hotel is located right off I-35. There is a great mall across the interstate with a movie theater. A historic town is within 2 miles of the hotel. The room was spacious and very lush. The indoor pool was the best. Definately would stay there again!
"Donkeys \ In Backyard"
The room was amazing! Very spacious, clean, quiet....although when you look out your window, you will have a perfect view of a junkyard with two donkeys. Breakfast was less than stellar. The pool area looked nice, although our famly did not have time to swim.

This is a very dog friendly hotel and we just love it. The bed was so comfy and room to accommodate our two shelties. Breakfast was good, although it was better on Saturday than on Friday. Sound was fantastic!!! Couldn't hear much between the walls. Would definitely stay again.

"Great place to stay"
This hotel was great. It was very clean, the room was spacious and the amenities were great. The indoor pool was a very nice benefit for exercising in the heat of Texas. My only complaint is the front desk clerk could have been friendlier.

"Stay Here While It's Still New!"
The hotel is still new and appears to be very clean. The rooms are well laid out and the beds very comfortable. The carpet is still clean. However, the structure itself looks like it was built by very unskilled laborers using a staple gun and some tape. There were lots of gaps, missing grout, paint smears, misaligned seams, etc.... No telling how this […] motel will hold up in a few years. The walls are very thin as well. We came back one night to find that the maids had skipped cleaning our room. Not a huge deal, except that we needed some more towels and shampoo. Called the front desk and they said, "Come down and pick them up." No apologies, nothing, which really ticked the wife off. Overall, there seems to be just a skeleton crew working, but again, the place was very clean. Oh yeah, the large gap under the rear door allowed field mice to crawl in. We saw one while eating breakfast and another guest said he saw another (maybe the same one) a different time, which makes us wary of the breakfast foods. The room was very clean. Beds very comfortable The hotel was convienent to Gruene and the river shopping and restaurants. The free breakfast could have been a little better. The eggs were awful but they had other things. I was very pleased with our stay and will stay there again next year!

"Nice hotel"
We stayed here two nights and it was wonderful. We brought our small dog on vacation with us this year. This hotel does not charge but if you are leaving your pet there, you must leave them in a kennel of some sort. They have a good walking area for them too. We were very impressed at how comfortable the beds were. Our room smelled a little like Jack […] in the box but I'm sure that was what the other guest prior to us had. The breakfast was pretty good but they need to work out a better flow of traffic. The line was crowded and long. Could have been better if the items were organized a little better. Great Hotel for the money. Perfect location for Schlitterbahn and restaurants. Kids really enjoyed the Texas shaped waffles!

Great hotel nice amenities. The bed was extra firm which hurt my back. we arrived late so we didn't get to check out the pool but the hotel was new and beautiful
"Wingate New Braunfels"
I took my Mom to New Braunfels for a few days and we stayed at the Wingate. Relatively new, very clean, very nice comfortable beds, nice bath and shower, small microwaves and refrigerators in every room. Just a short drive from the Guadalupe River Road and historic New Braunfels. Highly recommended.

Nice hotel. Still has that new hotel smell to it, as it just recently opened. Staff was friendly. Very convienient to everywhere you want to get to in New Braunfels, Gruene and San Marcos.

"Wingate in New Braunfels room 103"
When I first arrived at the hotel everything was as expected. The front desk clerk was nice and the room (103) was beautiful. I dropped off my bags in my room and went out to dinner. When I got back to the room late that night and was already in bed is when the nightmare began. The room shared a wall with the elevator which was extremely loud! I didn’t […] sleep at all that night and to make matters worse I had my 3 year old son with me. Needless to say, he was very grumpy the next day. I can’t believe that they would put people in that room. It should be a storage closet because it is unfit for people. When I complained the clerk at the desk said that they had never received any complaints about the room (which I find hard to believe) but then changed the story to they don’t normally use the room but the hotel was very busy that night. The hotel is new and all facilities are in excellent working order. The staff was extremely helpful. I had a personal crisis and the Asst. Mgr. went above and beyond to help me resolve it. I Strongly Recommend this Hotel

The hotels is new by all means the had two full bed not qeen beds that i boked. there was no ice mechines on the property but there was a ice bucket in the room and no ice.. i called the day before i booked the room and ask if the had a in door hottub they said yes but when i got there they did have a tub but i was informed that it has not worked since […] they opened..They also told me the guest lundry was on the 3rd floor which is right but there is no dry or washer in the room.. The only fellow that was there for the morning breakfast was a little unfriendly. The girls at the desk always very nice. And being clean to me is the important thing. Hotel was spotless.

Brand New - excellent value with comfortable beds, good sized bathroom area and excellent breakfast included.

New hotel, you could tell by the fresh paint smell and new furnishings. They had flyers on a free shuttle for "Wurstfest" but desk personnel were not familiar with any particulars.
