Guest House Off Park - Nowy Jork

Excellent situation and ideal for us in terms of what we wanted to see. Excellent service when the hot water system failed the owners got in touch inmediately and offered an alternative bathroom if ours could not be fixed on the day.

It's not a hotel but an appartment. No cleaning, you take your own trash out and wash your dishes. Many breacfast places nearby and the location is perfect. Nice alternative to a hotel, the house has character.

The Guest House on Park reminded me a little of renting a cottage at a beach - only it was fifth floor apartment. Everything worked well and the location was super convenient. No frills but relaxing. Those who do not like climbing stairs be warned but overall I recommend it.

I had a late flight so came in after the church was closed, so had some trouble getting a key to my room (I had to pick it up at a restaurant around the corner & no one at the church was answering phones any longer). The oven in the kitchen didn't work, but all I did was sleep there anyways, and the location was great, right in the heart of midtown. […] Overall it was great - I got what I paid for! Loved this place! Don't expect a hotel. It's like getting your own apartment in New York, with a full kitchen. Very roomy and the reason it worked so well for us was having separate sleeping areas yet we were all able to get together in a big living room. Communal and private all in one area. Wonderful location, close to public transportation. You have […] to go to the hotel right around the corner to pick up the key. They were very nice and kept our luggage there while we went to the museum before heading to the airport. We were also able to get an early check in and late check out which was very helpful. Everything you need is there. The cleaning lady stopped by because the room wasn't ready when we came. She was super and we headed out so she could pick up. Expect a New York apartment. It's not the Ritz, but it's actually so much more charming, and the rates were reasonable. Wifi too. We had #9 and had to walk up and down five flights of stairs, but who can't use the exercise? This place is an absolute dump. Don't stay there.

Hi! If you're a budget traveler which is in New York for site seeing, eating, partying and don't care to much about 'high end places' to spent the night: This is the place to be! Especially, when you are with a group of let's say 4 people. If you expect a classy hotel, service and hospitality: Do not go here! Ciao

This place really lives up to that name. It's an apartment, not a hotel. It felt like we were staying at a friend's place... a little dusty, a little noisy, no front desk when you walk in the door. If you're expecting all the conveniences of a hotel, this might not be the place for you. Otherwise, I think this place is fine. Er man familie med børn - vil bo lige i smørhullet og ikke går op i luksus eller udsigt, så er dette et rigtig godt valg. Er man derimod på romantisk parferie kan det ikke på nogen måde anbefales! Fordele: Hotellet ligger 2 minutters gågang fra Empire State Building - så det kan næppe være mere centralt. Lejligheden var stor - masser af plads - alting […] fungerede og der var ro om natten. Ulemper: Ingen elevator. Desuden var lejligheden gammel, slidt og ikke specielt indbydende. Der var mus! den største ulempe var nok at der ikke var mulighed for opbevaring af bagagen den dag vi skulle tjekke ud. Det nærliggende hotel hvor man henter nøglen til lejligheden ville ej heller opbevare og var meget afvisende - så vi var nødt til at slæbe kufferter rundt i byen indtil vi skulle flyve kl. 21.35. Perfekt beliggenhed 2 gader fra Empire State Building. Meget gammel og nedslidt lejlighed indeholdene stue med 2 dobbelt senge soveværelse med 1 dobbelt seng, køkken niche og garderobe. Kun opvarmning i soveværelse og utætte vinduer i stuen derfor meget koldt. Ingen rengøring og rene håndklæder og sengetøj i den uge vi (5 personer) boede der. Het was een grote teleurstelling. Dit "hotel" is eigendom van een of ander kerkgenootschap en is dus geen hotel. We kwamen aan om 21u30, niemand te zien. Geen receptie, deuren op slot. Uiteindelijk bleek een jongeman bereid ons te helpen en werd een verantwoordelijke gevonden in een gebouw om de hoek (moet je maar weten) die sleutels overhandigde. De […] toegezegde kamer bleek bezet. Terug naar ander gebouw. Er werd een andere kamer gevonden, wel niet naar onze wens, maar we konden slapen al was het op slechte bedden. Het geheel is in staat van verval, de keuken verdient die titel niet, badkamer met vuile matten, enfin, teveel om op te noemen. Of we er vrijdag om 10 u maar uit wilden zijn... En dat alles voor een zelfs voor New York fors bedrag per nacht ! Een schande !De volgende dag bij toeval - in een kantoortje weer ergens anders, verderop in de straat - een verantwoordelijke gevonden, die zich verontschuldigde en ons een gratis nacht aanbood bij een volgend verblijf in NY.
