OUTSTANDING HOTEL for our Long Beach Grand Prix visit. It was our first time to the LBGP, so we didn't know where to stay. We lucked out with the amazing proximity to the event, and the rates were somewhat affordable for the event dates. The LBGP experience was made extra special with the added rooftop passes; although we didn't stay to watch from up […] there, it was nice to have the option. We also ate in the restaurant a few times and each time, left very satisfied... even got Room Service for our last morning there. We will definitely be back... had a great experience there! Stayed here 1 night only. Location is great. Walking distance to entertainment and food. Service was quick and courteous. The hotel property and room were clean. Hotel allowed late checkout (1pm) which was great. Would like to come back to stay longer next time.

We arrived at 8am off of our cruise on Sunday morning. They actually were able to check us in right away, which was so nice! The hotel staff is very nice, friendly and helpful. I had a wonderful stay at Hyatt The Pike this past week. I was in town for a conference and usually am unimpressed with most hotels and their service. This hotel was great, the room was nice, comfortable and clean, and the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.

We had to check in early and they accommodated us! Great Staff Nice Hotel! Walking distance to many great restaurants and The Marina.

I loved the beauty of this hotel and the service was mostly good. The hotel itself was difficult to locate and don't mistake the much larger Hyatt across the street for this little gem. We had to ask for the bed to be re-made and instead got a new set of sheets brought to the room and laid at the foot of the bed. So, we re-made the bed ourselves. I chose the hotel based on reviews and pictures and it was as it appeared. The room was very upscale. We tried to order room service, however, and they said there is no room service. We also tried to go to the rooftop poolside bar, but it was closed. Hotel was nice and the proximity to a variety of Restaurants was great! Great for Business Personnel. I probably wouldnt recommend the hotel for Familys with small children. There was no bathtub and a variety of hazards for my young toddler.

We have stayed her before and received the same great service as when it was the Avia. The Pike is a nice location with many nice shops and restaurants.

I was there for a quick 2 night visit. The staff was pleasant. Te room was clean, but incredibly small. The picture they show must be the penthouse. Little disappointed that the rooftop bar was closed the whole weekend. Surrounding area was very touristy. Wish there were more local restaurants, I can go to an Outback anywhere. This was our first stay. The hotel is very new, modern and clean. Rooms were nice apart from the very soft bed. In fact, if you have any issue with sleeping on an extremely soft bed, this hotel should not be on your short list. They wanted to be accommodating and the staff were very pleasant, but could do nothing about the beds as the hotel has no firmer […] alternatives! The immediate area isn't incredibly exciting, but downtown is a short drive (5 mins) where you'll find a variety of restaurants, coffee shops and grocery stores. If you are planning a stay in this area the hotel is a good choice and comparably priced with other area hotels. If you're visiting L.A. there are better areas to stay. We were here for 2 days of a 10 day stay in the L.A. area. We live in Los Angeles, and decided to check out Long Beach for a night. Although Long Beach itself is a bit strange, Avia is a fantastic hotel. Great service, a good hotel bar, and really comfortable rooms.

Awesome hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location. It was a romantic weekend getaway for my girlfriend and I and it was perfect. The only thing that went wrong was I ordered Champagne and chocolate covered strawberries to be in the room when I arrived and they weren't there. I called the front desk and they apologized as they changed my room. […] They delivered them promptly to my room and didn't even charge me for them because of the mistake! Nice hotel in Long Beach area. Near convention, restaurants, etc. Very helpful staff. Nice rooms, very comfortable beds/ pillows. Good Value.

The hotel is small and well appointed. It is located near the waterfront, which is nice. The surrounding restaurants are noisy and medium quality. The hotel restaurant servied a nice breakfast, free coffee to go and the bar had a nice wine list.

The room I stayed in was very comfortable and well designed. It had a shower the entire length of the bathroom, a TV that could be turned to face either the bed or the couch area (that made sort of an additional room). We stayed there overnight before a cruise. They upgraded our room for free, and took very good care of us. They stored our bags the morning of our cruise, and they had a very friendly staff!

The rooms are very contemporary but functional! Love the interior design. Restroom is functional, big and beautiful. Beds are super comfy! the location is perfect and the view from the pool deck is fantastic! Walking distance from the Aquarium and Pine Street! This is our second time staying at Avia and will be back soon!

The Avia is a cool modern, hip hotel that was quite comfortable. We had sort of a junior suite with a corner room, lots of windows and a couch. The TV swivels so you can watch it from bed or at the couch. You can easily walk to downtown Long Beach and you are in the middle of the "New Pike" which bears no resemblance to the old pike. We liked our room […] except I would cite a couple of downsides. The lighting in public areas was like a nightclub, very dark even during the day. This did serve to hide the lack of housekeeping. The carpets appeared warn and in need of vacuuming. Our bathroom floor needed to be mopped. I don't think I should be able to see where previous guests had missed the toilet and their urine had dried on the floor of the bathroom. The staff was very welcoming and courteous. The restaurant was not bad for breakfast and relatively inexpenseive for an upscale hotel. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable. The room was phenomenal, exquisite, and extremely comfortable. The Avia staff was very friendly and inviting, plus I would recommend others to stay at the Avia. I'm looking forward to staying at the Avia Hotel again!

Great value, great location in the Pike section of Long Beach near the convention center. At the end of the 710 freeway, you can get to a lot of southern cal locations in 20 to 30 minutes

Clean, nice area, comfy bed, nice staff. Walking distance to the Long Beach Aquarium, Shoreline Village, the marina. Highly recommend.

Helpful and very friendly staff. Public parking structure across the street was convenient. Hotel was close to local attractions and would consider staying there the next time we come to Long Beach area.

The pictures match the hotel and the rooms. I was very satisfied with the quality of the room, the location, service and even the cafe served an excellent breakfast.

Beautiful rooms and facilities make this a boutique-like hotel with all the services of a first class establishment. Somehow seems both small and big at the same time. My paramour and I loved the in-room shower and roof-top pool lounge. Looking forward to returning.

We were staying with some friends and they rearranged the rooms so we were able to get a room next to our friends. The desk help was very friendly. Excellent hotel, they have everything going for them, but their service in a couple of areas lets them down. Some of it minor, some of it not. Firstly, when paying for a Grand King Room and being given a room with two double beds is not cool! I was not happy and was told it was my fault when booking the room? However they did change the room to the […] one I actually booked. Breakfast was ok, but some of it arrived cold (scrambled eggs), my wife asked for milk for her tea... she is still waiting for it. Minibar... this has a remote locking system. They did not unlock it. Mentioned it to front counter, they apologised and said they would unlock... they didn't. I called and they apologised and then they unlocked it! That's the negative things for a 2 night stay. On the positives, the staff do try to be helpful and when we asked for restaurant recommendations, they were great at providing them. Bed was the most comfortable of all hotels we stayed in over the 6 weeks we travelled the USA and Canada. Hotel is pretty cool, bit of a funky theme going on. AVIA is now a Hyatt managed hotel.My wife and love this hotel.The resturant is very good,but,no one is ever in there.Shame.There are 14 resturants that I can think of in just a short walk,but,only the Auld Dubliner serves breakfast(weekends only).Avia's breakfast is very good.I hope the new mgrs dont raise the prices.

Loved this hotel! Great central location and very well appointed rooms with a beautiful bathroom. The rooftop pool was also great with the exception of the fact that the bar area was very small. Having some cocktail waitresses would be helpful. Other then that everything surpassed my expectations.

If your looking for cool and trendy, this is hard to beat. Great rooms with fantastic beds and an amazing walk in shower. The only knock is the service in the restraunt. Very slow and not as friendly as the rest of the hotel. There is a great breakfast place a few blocks walk called The Omelette Inn...Fantastic!
